NON-JAZZ NBA PLAYOFF thread

Suns had the best Assist-to-Turnover ratio in the NBA of any team in the last 25 years and only had 7 turnovers with CP3 not playing (that is crazy).

They were also top 3 in the NBA in FG % on offense.

And they are #2 in the NBA in FT shooting.
Agreed. I edited my previous post to show their normal performance this season vs what they did today. Today was better than their season numbers which include what they did against teams that didn't even make the playoffs. So I think that sustaining those stats should be unlikely, though possible.

Should also be noted though that when the Clippers go 5-out they are actually quite bad defensively.

Yep. Look at the Suns players in off ball action when the Clippers went zone today.

Johnson, Bridges, Craig, Ayton. They all just destroyed that zone with their off-ball decisions and cuts.

True. Their defense when the opponent is shooting free throws was especially bad today ;)

Would be interesting to know the points per possession for the suns when the clippers went 5 out vs not going 5 out.

Seemed like the clippers were better today in total when they went 5 out. Though that might just be because their offense got much better when they went 5 out more so than their defense got worse.

A lot of it was because Cousins wasn't on the court when they went 5-out, lol.

They were alright when Zubac was playing.

I wish he would have played more against us lol

He couldn’t because Rudy obliterated him in game 2. Rudy obliterated their bigs and forced them to go small. But some posters think Rudy needs to be unloaded.

I get the arguments that his contract hamstrings our ability to improve. But people act as if trading Rudy resolves all problems when in reality it’s a mixed bag. Without Rudy, we might not have gotten out of the first round with the way Ja was attacking the rim and JV could hammer it inside.

Crowder came into the game and went right over to Reggie Jackson and bumped him before the ball was even inbounded and the look on Reggie Jackson face was priceless. His face said "oh God, not this ************* again"

our team has lacked an edge since we got rid of Jae. You need a few guys like him to win a title IMO. We don’t have any enforcers.

Suns are going to sweep the Clippers, even without Paul, unless Kawhi returns and make our complete collapse look even more pathetic.
I don’t know why anyone would write off the Clippers after losing game 1. Their MO seems to be they don’t start really playing until after they lose game 2. I actually thought the two teams pretty even. And unlike our coach, Lue is going to make some adjustments during the series. I don’t see Jae looking like prime KD and Cam Payne looking like prime CP3.
This series could be very competitive.

Why didn’t we ever try a super death scoring lineup? Like… we’ve never tried it in the last two years. Why not try just outscoring the **** out of teams that you cannot defend? Do something like Clarkson/Conley, Mitchell, Bogey, Royce, Jingles and try to outscore the other team? Sure, they won’t be able to do anything but shoot and score. But perhaps they hit more shots than the opponent?

We saw that historically with Don Nelson. Mike Danonti did it. Phx does it at times. Why don’t we?

I would’ve tried this at least once in those 6 games. Hell, such a strategy might’ve helped us beat denver last year too, when it became clear that we had no answer for Murray and Joker. Q is more conservative with his lineups than even sloan. Which is unbelievable to me.

lol

Mitchell just had one of the greatest scoring playoffs of all time, much of that on one good ankle, and after one game people here are asking if Booker is better.

Time to log off.
Spida’s ability to score since his rookie year is impressive, no doubt. Three out of four of his playoffs have been just incredible. His rookie year where he took down the Thunder and then the last two playoffs between Murray and now with this injury. Booker however, seems to be just near as lethal scoring and rebounds and assists. Just today he scored 40, grabbed 13 boards, and racked up 11 assists.

Is Spida the better player?

If you don’t think this is a good question then maybe it’s time for you to log off?
