What's new

Where is that pit bull thread when I need it?

I blame the enablers just as much, though. It's not like they don't know exactly what they're getting themselves into. Take them away, and you take away all of Salty's weapons. Except his ears. And his nose. And his armpits...Ok, forget it. He's still got plenty of weapons left. Nevermind.

LOL. You really brought your A game today Freak!!!

No, it says a weapon is something for use in attack or defense in combat, fighting, or war. Not something that has been used but something for use. So a gun that has never been used is still a weapon under that definition, and so are cropped ears on a dog that has never been in a fight.
But if I don't use the gun as a weapon, how is it for use as a weapon? Doesn't the term "for use" require some action?

Well since it was invented for use as a weapon, it's a weapon. If you don't ever use it, then you have a weapon that never gets used.

Like a collector that has an old rifle hanging his living room. It can be all polished, with no intentions to ever actually shoot it. But it's still a weapon that could be used for its original purpose at any given time.

I disagree with your interpretation of it all (obviously). I maintain that a weapon requires action. In my opinion, that old rifle hanging in a living room is nothing more than a decoration until and unless it is used as a weapon. If it's never used as such, it's not a weapon. But, different people having different opinions is what makes the world go round. If everybody agreed on everything, this world would be a boring place.

And I am still amazed at how a helmet can be a weapon at times, but not at other times, in your view. Why would that be the case for a helmet, but not a gun or cropped ears?

So a gravy ladle is a weapon, because it could be used as such?
No. I never argued that anything that could possibly be used as a weapon, is a weapon. That's just distraction being thrown by the usual trolls.

I am saying if it was made for use as a weapon, then it's a weapon. Even if you don't ever plan on using it and only bought it so you could look cool, it's still a weapon.

In addition, if it wasn't made for use as a weapon, and you use it as such, then it became a weapon when you used it in that manner. For example, if you beat someone with a baseball bat, the bat was a weapon (even though that was not what it was made for). If you stab someone with a pencil, it became a weapon when you used it in that manner.

Well we can agree to disagree on that. I'm fine with that. My issue is when people call me stupid or retarded when the dictionary actually agrees with me.
