NON-JAZZ NBA PLAYOFF thread

Maybe Booker should look to give Ayton the ball more. He is 27/81 from the field the last 4 games. That’s 33%. Dude needs to try something else.
That's why part of me don't want this Suns to win it all. Booker winning a chip before Spida does...... Such a shame.

Anyways, sorry everybody. Suns didn't sweep and are struggling against a more banged up and tired clippers team than the one we played while the suns are healthy and rested.

The narrative sure has changed.
It was how great the suns are and how bad we suck and how we couldn't beat them. Now it's look at the greatness that is Torrey Craig. We could have had that and then we would be champions!

We either suck or we have Craig and we are fantastic

Anyway. Night night

Ya he had a good game. I have seen favors have good games in the playoffs too. Even this year.
I heard people calling him playoff favors even.

Niang was bad. Just because he was bad doesn't mean he couldn't be good.

That's the thing about role players. They only get a few plays per game. If those plays end up bad they look horrible. If those plays end up good they look great.

Let's say niang hits his open threes like normal and doesn't make a couple bad passes (maybe trying to hard while missing Conley) like he normally doesn't. Then we ain't bitchin so much.
**** happens sometimes though.

Fish... really man. Craigs defense is better than Niangs... I know he still gets scored on... but if he makes shots he moves from a neutral player to really positive. Niang makes shots and he maybe works his way to positive. Look how bad our bench minutes were in the clips series.

Craig had been a good player before in the playoffs. We said nah that 10
Minutes we could cover with a guy who has been there and performed... we’d rather leave that to chance because who knows... maybe Niang could be good. We got ****ing cute with stuff that shouldn’t matter... and let it have a deep affect on the series. Hell maybe Craig eats up Favs minutes and Niang still plays... we go 5 out and try to match them. We needed a guy like Craig... he would have helped... now we get to watch him help another team.

How about favors against Memphis?
How about other series in past years?
Had favors ever been more impactful than Craig or is Craig the goat

Favors was great against Memphis and even game 1 he was pretty solid. Then he fell apart. I think it's a health thing with him. He just is never fully healthy anymore and when he's close to healthy and plays hard it isn't sustainable for very long. I thought maybe favors would bring it all playoffs like he often does but those days might be behind him.

Favs was good in the Memphis series... and that is just it... in the playoffs you need multiple options because sometimes series arent made for a guy like Niang or Favs. Niang sucking has ZERO to do with Mike. He doesn’t get his shot off all that quickly... clips are athletic and shut off his shooting window... so he drove and turned the ball over. He couldn’t hang on defense either.

Craig ain’t the goat but he’s the better option in that series... it isn’t that hard to understand.

I don't think Craig would have liked being traded here and it would not have gone well. I also doubt he gets minutes here regardless based on Snyder's history. We picked up a supposedly amazing wing defender who didn't play and got cut as well this season.

Both Craig and Niang's deal expire in a few weeks. Fair to say Craig is about to get paid. Niang? Not so much

Niang was bad in the playoffs, but that's hard to predict. He was solid this regular season. You can point to last year's playoffs but niang was bad in the regular season last year but he seemed to turn things around. He was playing pretty decent defense and hitting his shots well. Shooters do go though slumps and it's unfortunate his was in the playoffs. I think it also effected his entire game though which is what really hurt. We definitely need to upgrade next year.

Craig had 5 pts and 3 rebounds tonight... a very modest game... Niang had 5 pts total in the 6 game series. It isn’t necessarily that Craig is some panacea... it is that Niang was bad... like not just bad... like unplayable. So I apologize if an actual nba wing player looks like manna from heaven... it’s that when you are fed dog **** anything looks pretty great.

It was predictable that we’d need another wing defender. We got lucky as hell that Royce stayed out of foul trouble. Niang is a situational playoff player... we decided he was a rotation staple. He didn’t get benched because we really had no options... we should have had options. Guys were out there... this isn’t a new need... we got lit the **** up last year in the playoffs. We decided to look the other way... it was dumb AF.

I am honestly shocked as heck the Suns came out so lethargically in this game. They've seen what the Clippers did to Dallas and Utah right?

Unbelievably careless and played without any urgency in the 1st half.

They have the better team IMO, but they are playing with fire right now.

They better win Game 6, because if Scott Foster is reffing Game 7 in Phoenix, the Suns are cooked.

Nope, basically everything he's said is spot on.
I mean yeah he’s arguing that a guy who was had for 100k in cash isn’t the goat... he’s not... but he’s been a useful wing player. People saying he’s a more useful player tha. Niang and could have helped us are spot on... does it change the series? I do t know but it’s the same bull shot argument that people would make back in the day of why we shouldn’t add a player because “lols yeah player X is gonna finally make us a contender”. No one move or one player fixes it all does that mean you bypass solutions to one of your problems? I mean why bother?

Milwaukee does not win the Brooklyn series without Tucker.... did Tucker win them a title? IDK but he helped them with one potential road block.

Niang would be behind Craig and Nader on the Suns depth chart... they also have the option to ramp minutes up for Crowder, Johnson, and Bridges. They are prepared for injuries. They have done a hell of a job filling out the roster.

Please tell me you’re joking lol.
This is overreaction to 1 game.

People swing way too strongly after just a single win.

It took Paul George having the game of his life, and Marcus Morris going bananas for the Clippers to hold off elimination.

If the Suns really lose Game 6, they deserve to lose this series.

Even if they lose it won’t be because they didn’t have options. We flat out just didn’t prepare like we should.

These are the type of guys who call Tucker and Craig washed. They don’t get it.
