Jazz Offseason Plan

lmao dude you are delusional.
Nope.

You bash people on here for ideas all the time when you are 100% wrong. I've been pushing a low buy deal for Batum for years and always got bashed. Now you're one of the guys pining for Batum.

Its okay. You aren't gonna change. You'll still be arrogant with absolutely zero humility. This is probably the only place in your world where you have any real say so you take out your frustrations on here.

I don't think he's a savior, but he can replace 80% of Bojan's offense and is capable of better defense. He is definitely more athletic and younger and a better rebounder.

Very important- he's cheaper than Bojan. He makes $39 million the next 3 years which is what Bojan makes the next two years.

He doesnt come close to 80% of Bogey's offense. He can't come anywhere close to Bogey's threat level with or without the ball. Bogey bends the defense. Kuzma is just a guy out there.

Final year is a player option... so if he does play well then he opts out... doesn't materially change things but just wanted to clarify.

Like I can squint a little and see it for sure... but many times we assume that growth will come and it just doesn't.
Kuz makes $5.7 less than Bojan this year and over $7 less next year. If he exceeds his contract and wants to opt out, then that means we got good play out of him.

I think it's worth the risk definitely if we can get him with #22.

To Kuzma's credit his defense did improve this year. But it's just OK at best. He's just kind of OK at everything. His playoff performance was absolutely pathetic though. I don't see a lot of upside to him other than just being an OK player off the bench.
I like guys that are okay and then realize that and focus on how to be useful... He just seems like a guy that is okay but thinks he's awesome.

Only way we get him is with Conley and they won't send much else back (in part because they don't have much to give in draft assets). I would not trade Bogey for him #22 likely doesn't change my mind. My guess is they aren't super interested in that deal either. They need a point guard.

lmfao. I'm pretty sure I "bashed" the Batum ideas when he was getting paid a max contract, not when he got his new one. So yeah, shut the **** up and bring receipts and context to the dumb **** you say.

Tony continues saying the core of this team will likely be broken up without improvements in the postseason. I’m just curious as to what exactly Tony means here, like a compete rebuild? Is it referring to Rudy and Donovan? Is it referring to the other guys like Bogey, Joe, etc.? He’s mentioned it several times, and I’m just wondering what exactly it means.
To me, the core of the team is Rudy/Don/Mike. To Tony, I think the core of the team is everyone on the roster 1-9.

It probably just means Ingles will retire and we might finally consider trading another member of the rotation.

I am having a hard time reconciling the “we gotta run it back for Don to try to win a title and keep him happy” with the “next year we’re making drastic changes if it doesn’t work” line? Like, isn’t a rebuild next year gonna piss Don off? So why not take a risk today and swap out a couple members of the rotation and see what happens?

I think it means if it doesn’t work with this group we pivot and trade Rudy… the championship window closes and you try to get on the right path so Donovan is happy.

It also means there could be a catastrophic change on the horizon because Donovan wants out. I think Ryan got way out in front of it by bringing in Wade… but I’m guessing there is some fire to that smoke. I think it means there are BIG changes on the horizon.

His numbers are down because there’s only one ball to go around and we had a lot of dudes who could score.
Exactly why we should trade him. We have too many scorers/shooters and not enough rebounding/perimeter defenders. Love at least could help us on rebounding. Like I said, we should only trade for him if it also helps us offload Favs salary + getting picks from the Cavs.

How does Kuzma help solve any of our problems though. Love at least could help us on rebounding at the 4 spot. Kuz isn't really a good defender or rebounder.

In all fairness, if they really wanna run it back they could've kept DL. Firing him should be a sign for change.

I think it was his screw ups on the fringes this offseason/season… more like drafting Dok and signing Favs as well as Matt Thomas. The relationship thing with Quin was also an issue I’m guessing.

I don’t think they want big changes… I do think they will kick the tires on stuff but I expect our top 7 guys to return (if we can keep Mike). I think they want to add a couple guys to the mix.
