Report: Dame plans to request a trade in coming days

You have **** takes. What help has he been given? McCollum and Nurkic? Lolz.
I think Portland has tried to build around Dame. McCollum and Nurkic are good. They have gone out and gotten Ariza, Covington, Kanter, Melo, Powell, Collins, Whiteside, Aminu, Harkless, Evan Turner, etc.

They have tried. Their FO has been active. Injuries really hurt them with Collins and others.

According to Dame the reports "are not true" Haynes also said in regards to being asked if he wants to be traded: "no we are not even at that point yet".

Nurk getting in his "i told you so" tweet lol

Haynes saying Dame does not want to be traded, but he does want to see significant change roster wise

LoPo you can **** off. All these players you listed are nowhere near Conley’s talent and you have bitched and complained about him non-stop for 2 years now. That is your idea of getting help? All of those scrubs?

I said they tried. It's not like they sat on their hands.

And did Portland ever give up anybody as good as Crowder AND 3 1st round picks for any of those "scrubs"?

They didn’t try very hard. They made these moves to show they are "trying" but in reality they are content with being a playoff team and that’s it.

And for ****s sake Crowder and 3 firsts for an all-star isn’t **** lmao. Name another all-star we could have gotten for Crowder and 3 firsts. I will wait all day.

We didn't trade for an All Star man. He became an All Star because of our roster, coaching, etc. And because others were injured or unavailable.

Portland has tried to build around CJ and Dame. Look at all the perimeter defenders they have brought in to support those two. I have said all along Portland should trade CJ and focus on Dame. But who knows, maybe Dame told the FO to build around both of them. If so, what could the FO do more than they did?

Conley may not have officially been an all star prior to his arrival but it’s not like he underachieved his entire career and suddenly refined his game and evolved into something he wasn’t before becoming a Jazz man.

He was seen as an all star by peers and coaches alike and would have been a 5 time all star playing in the east.

It's not disrespect. It's just the truth. We didn't trade for an All Star. He only became an All Star because he played on our special team this year and , yes, he was a special part.

And the argument about playing in the East could also be made for him even making the team this year. If one player who was hurt wasn't hurt, he doesn't make it. I mean for crying out loud, look who had to miss the All Star Game so Mike became an All Star:
Durant
AD
Booker (who was also an injury replacement and Conley got his spot)

I'm proud of Conley getting the All Star nod, but he wasn't one before we traded for him and he only got one because our team was where it was AND so many people got injured.

I can’t lie, if this is the normal at this point with the NBA, and it appears it is, once this iteration of the Jazz is over(when Don asks for a trade in the next couple years) my NBA fandom is done for good. What’s the point? You watch a young dude get drafted by your city, play in summer league, struggle through multiple years and go through some ups and downs, and finally break through and either win a title or have a legit chance at one. That’s the hope that makes being a sports fan worth it. If it’s just draft a dude, develop him, and then have him screw you for a bigger market, rinse and repeat, there’s just no reason to keep coming back anymore. It’s sad but we’re down to Giannis. Legit ONE guy, and I’m praying that man wins a title this year. He deserves it, and it’s the Giannis type story that makes a fanbase have a reason to believe and invest in your league, the rest of the NBA isn’t what makes fans and sports find the bond it’s meant to have. Sure sports is a business, but sports isn’t a normal business and the emotional commitment from your “customers” is just not the same as other walks of life. Let a city fall in love with their star, let a city watch them grow, let them finally break through, otherwise sports for most NBA markets is just not worth an ounce of time or commitment.

People need to understand that Conley's all-star nod was way more a lifetime achievement award than a he's the best guard in the west. He had a good season but it was obviously a tier 2 all-star year.

Dame to the Knicks could be fun, but the Sixers would seem to have more of the assets necessary.
If it happens I think its Philly. Portland can convince themselves Ben is gonna be good and keep them a playoff team or they can nab serious draft/future assets in addition to the prospects and picks they extort from Philly. I would negotiate the trade with Philly and then separately negotiate Ben Simmons deals on the side. Could nab like 5-6 firsts in that type of deal... then sell off all the other parts and rebuild.

Yeah. I think a young pairing of Simmons and McCollum would have been pretty intriguing, but not so much at their current ages.

Ben almost has to go to a 3rd team. NOLA could be interesting. Super athletes with terrible shots just running at people all game.

This would be a very interesting trade. I actually like it for both sides and the NBA. Portland takes a slight step back, but I think Ingram is a foundational piece. New Orleans with Lillard and Zion would be fun to watch.

I wonder if this makes Lonzo that much easier to get. And what happens with Covington?

Small markets should also be held accountable. If you have a star like Dame, time to really push to make your team a title contender. The Jazz cannot bitch if Mitchell follows Dame’s example in the next few years. Our last several draft picks and free agent signings have been real head scratchers
