Banned
Hey Jason,

Maybe you could explain how the moderation team decides what length of time a user is banned for as I'm a little confused. I posted a video, that couldn't be viewed on the site only youtube, of Michelle Obama A.K.A. Michael Lavaughn Robinson that had shown no nudity, had no curse words, and received a ban. Now, even believing that this was ban worthy is one thing, but to give me a two week ban, why? I noticed when I first received the ban it was only for a week, then after five or so days it went up to two weeks, why? Could you also explain how your moderation team decides a he/her like Gameface, who posts multiple vulgar photos, and tells a member of the community he/her wishes their family would die, would only receive a week, why? Has your moderation team become political activists Jason? I'd recommend you do something about that if its the case.

Cry harder.

And gameface gets warnings too. Same rules.
No, you see, that's where I'm confused. What rule did I break, and what is justifiable in a two week ban in what I posted.

I understand why gameface was banned. Nothing in the video I posted broke anything in the site rules.
Cry harder.
I honestly wan't going to say a damn thing if I got a week, but two weeks for nothing that broke site rules is a joke.

"You agree to not use the Service to submit or link to any Content which is....likely to offend....

Okay, I get that, which I'll now now that any content someone posts that offends me I'll have to tag as abusive, which is a damn joke. Thats the ONLY thing a mod could have possibly got me on.

Normal Moderation Procedures

Warnings: Normally we are more lenient than the single strike policy. In general, when the rules are broken, the moderators will issue an official "warning" to the offending party. A warning requires a “yes” vote from three moderators/administrators.

Warnings come in two forms: a warning without a point and a warning with a point. A warning without a point is just a warning. It is a documented warning that we're asking you to do so something different but doesn't directly go against you in terms of a suspension or bans.

A warning with a point means it will count toward a corrective action. Points accumulate for a period of 180 days before dropping off your record. The number of warning points accumulated within this window, can and will result in suspensions or bans.

Suspensions: Typically you are permitted only two points within a 180 day period. Upon the third point received, you will serve a seven-day suspension. Upon the fourth point, you will serve a 14-day suspension.

Bans: If you get a fifth point in a 180-day period, you will receive a six-month ban. If you are banned, you will not be reinstated prior to this period expiring. This includes your original account and any additional accounts you may create.

NOTE: All warnings (with and without points) are retained for reference and can be seen moderation staff. This means that repeated, uncorrected behavior could result in warnings, suspensions, or bans more quickly.
Was a parody video of Michael Lavaughn Robinson worthy of a two week ban because it offended someone? Where was my warning? How many "points" did I receive for this infraction? I'm guessing I got 4 points for posting this video @Jason?

You get ONE point per offense. Unless egregious- which none of yours were. You’ve accumulated FOUR points within the last 6 months. One more and you move to the FIVE point level.

… and your video? CTRL-F “trolling” if you need to. That had zero to do with the thread. Tell me how that’s relevant to the Jazz moving to Vegas?

Where does one see these points? I've never had a warning, and I might have posted 10 times in the last 6 months. Your mods keeping this tally on a scratch card?

I'm logging in for one reason only, to point out that the statement you've made about me is an absolute lie.

I did not say that I wished anyone's family would die. That is not even close to what I said.

Despite whatever level of intoxication anyone thinks I'm at when posting certain things I am fairly precise, intentionally so, in the words I use.

I never said that I wished anyone's family would die.

It's disappointing to me that no one else has pointed that out after you've made that false statement multiple times.

Anyway, that's the only reason I'm currently posting.

I've made the decision to no longer participate on jazzfanz.com, so you should be well pleased. In the thread "Gameface" I made a post shortly after my ban was lifted. I asked some questions (to myself) and I feel that I have the answers I needed.

Unlike you, HaxOrs, while I'm not as good a person as I'd like to be, I would actually like to be a good person. I have participated on this forum with the hope that I am making it a better place. I also do feel that there are, despite the overall impact I may have, certain behaviors that I've engaged in that are unacceptable.

I'm am more frequently frustrated and angered by my participation here than I am entertained and satisfied.

As already mentioned, it is extraordinarily frustrating to me that I am the one telling HaxOrs that his statement is false. I'll leave it up to the rest of you if you care or understand why his statement is false, but just as when I expressed my frustration with casually being referred to as the site drunk and then told by a fellow long-time member to "get some sleep" as clearly I should just accept it for what it is and play my role as a punchline for the community, I realize that I have destroyed my reputation in this community.

So, I'm leaving. I don't need Jason or the mod team to take any action. I'm perfectly capable of logging out and going away on my own.

And that's what I've decided to do.

When you are slicing words with a razor, sometimes other people get cut unintentionally.

Understandably so. There are a few bad actors in our forums.

For what it's worth, I don't think of you as a punchline, and you have not lowered my opinion of you in any way. We're all struggling with our own demons.

If you decide one day that you will gain more by being here than by not, I will look forward to your return.

Thanks for banning hack Jason. He sucks real bad.

Can’t we just skip to the part where he gets his fifth point already? I’m bored with this melodrama.

We have some forum software that tracks it all magically! :)
