Jazz Offseason Plan

I think I would take the Kevin Knox proposal
He's still only 22 and Jazz get two more draft picks
Jazz have to take that deal if offered
Jazz save lots of money and collect some assets

I still find it so strange that reports are now saying that the Jazz are looking to make a trade to shed salary after being told all offseason that they're all in for next season to try to win a championship. It's really hard to see how we don't take a step back next season if we lose Joe or Bogey.

They ran the algorithm and it said we suck.

It is weird. Maybe these rumors are to stir up interest or all the “we will spend whatever takes” was bull shot. Tillman Ferreira said for 3-4 years that they’d pay a lot of tax and no move was about money… but then every deal they did had financial motivations and they never used their exceptions. They feed TJ the company line but in the end it doesn’t mean much… when they come back in the offseason and don’t use the taxpayer MLE but swear they were “aggressive” don’t believe it.

How’s about this two step…

JC and 30 for Kuzma and 22… Bojan and 22 for Bledsoe and 10 and 35.

We then pray we land a Donovan like prospect at 10. Maybe use 35 to offload Favs somewhere. IDK what we are trying to accomplish but it feels like we are headed for some more activity than we originally anticipated… whether or not it is productive is another story.

The Knox deal proposal sucks for us.

And please, for the love of Xenu, here’s a new rule — if you are referencing something posted elsewhere on the internet, can everyone please post the link!

If I’m trading Bogey, it’s for a youngish, somewhat proven rotation player that makes less money than Bogey, is probably worse offensively, but is a more versatile defender, or, a lottery pick or close to lottery pick.

Knox, 19, and, 32 very easily could be Bogey for zero NBA rotation level players.

This is what I’m saying. There’s so many conflicting messages and rumors out there who the **** knows.

I think the Jazz very much want to stay competitive, but I also think there may be a desire to bring back the big 3 (Don, Rudy, and Mike) and tweak the rest in ways that get us under the tax, and make a big roster pivot less painful if we have to make it next offseason by doing some of it now and getting some younger players on the roster.

yep, we could do much better than Knox + 2 late firsts with Bogey.

I would take the Knox and 2 firsts for Bogey if we had another trade lined up. Anyway we could flip 3 firsts this year and Favors for Jerami Grant or someone his level?

Well, here it is. Woj and Lowe say Conley is likely coming back…but also, that the sense is the Jazz can’t afford to bring everyone back.

So yes, it sounds like the choice has been made to keep Conley over one of Ingles orBogey.
