Utes 2011 Football Discussion

Maybe they decided to lose to take the heat away from their basketball team getting their *** handed to them by a nonathletic scholarship Ivy league team, Harvard.

FYI, that nonathletic Ivy league team beat 20th ranked Florida State today.
They can't be that bad, so it's possible (1 in a Million) the Utes are not as bad as you think they are.

So I guess UCLA gets the "honor" of being the pac-12 south represenative...enjoy two b2b beatdowns!!!! probably still fire that horrible coach

See, now this is weird to me. Are you stoked that Utah lost, or are you just stoked that Salty's team lost? This is an important distinction.

For myself, when Utah wins I'm happy that my parents' team won. When they lose, I'm happy that Salty's team lost. It's great either way. :-)

I somehow blame Salty for this loss, like the Utes players were reading up his posts and forget that they might actually have to show up today to play.

As a Ute fan, I honestly could care less that they lost this game. They didn't deserve a chance at the PAC 12 champ game and they are a mediocre team at best (this game shows that they're more than likely less than mediocre at best). With that said, the last time the Utes had a down season like this and ended it semi-strong, they went undefeated the next year and beat the **** out of BYU and Alabama.

As a Colorado fan, I was thrilled about this win. I don't care if it was St. Mary's School for the Blind, Colorado hasn't won on the road in an eternity.

I don't like that Utah has been made Colorado's rival either. For years I cheered for the Utes partially because of their geographical proximity to the Jazz, and partially because they've run a good program and were BCS busters for so many years. It feels bizarre to root against them and for them to be considered a rival, even though the geographic rivalry makes sense.

Utah was embarrassed today.

However, at least their season had a point to it all. BYU's was over against Texas.

I know it has been said 1000000000x but it needs to be said once again, Utah needs a damn QB. Anyone watch the Cal vs Arizona game? Both those QBs could throw the rock. It's amazing what happens when you have a QB that can do that...

But at least Utah has Basketball to look forward to

Can we go ahead and consider this Whitt's worse loss as Utah HC?

The team came out flat, which I put on coaching 100%. Everything snowballed from there. White goes down, starting Olineman goes down, FG kicker misses 3 kicks.

I really hope Utah avoids the Vegas bowl. Last thing they need to do right now is play Boise State or TCU.

As bummed as I am now, I'm still very much looking forward to recruiting season and how Utah moves forward from all of this. With Utah returning John White, all of their WR's and 3/5ths of their starting O-line, all is not lost. Obviousy the biggest question mark will be the QB spot and what Utah decides to do. Keeping the Travis Wilson commit will be huge, and while starting a true freshman is rare, it honestly could be Utah's best option.

I should have left when Mo Lee got his personal foul on that first drive. I would have been a lot less frustrated and a lot warmer.

Good points. It was a very nauseating game to watch. Couldn't move the ball at all in the 1st half. Refused to throw the ball which made it impossible for White to get going. The missed FGs besides the last one were pretty bad. Although the last one is one of the easiest 48 yard FG attempts you can take. Not saying that making it is easy. Just a bad game that Whitt and the coaching staff need to learn from.
