What's new

Okay, ******, I've asked this before, but

Exactly. It's all about matchups.

I don't know, I guess I just 'see' a sf when I look at/watch GH.

Yes, which is why the labels of SF or SG is completely unnessecary. We have a team full of wings who can , for the most part, play either position depending on matchup.

I like Milsap a lot, but I do not see him in the future plans of the team. He is now position-less and fans are trying to shoe-horn him in so they don't have to face the reality: Sap's best position may be as a key piece in a trade to really improve the team.

And he can't play the 2 when facing Monta Ellis, Eric Gordon, and Dwayne Wade.

Or Kobe Bryant? Did you watch the end of last season? He played his best ball at the 2.
We will need to see if that is still the case, or if he can play the 3, but the fact remains he played his best ball from the 2 spot last year, not the 3.
He played against Kobe, and I don't know who else and held his own.

My personal opinion is that GH will flourish at the 2, and I hold out hope that Burks will be given a shot at the 3. He is 6-6, but has a 6-10 wingspan. Hayward may be 6-8, but so are his arms.

I see GH playing the 2, and strangely enough Burks at the 3 by the end of the season. Sap will be our 6th man, hustle guy that will come in and give us a spark, maybe win a game or two, and fill in nicely in spots with certain match ups.

I don't care what you all say, I think Gordon will be best at the 2 no matter what you think when looking at stats and heights.

Kobe is old and slower. Hayward doesn't have the speed to keep up with Wade, Gordon, or Ellis.

I don't think Gordon is really that fast. So you are saying there are 2-3 SG in the league that GH will not be able to keep up with? So you are saying the other 28 teams he will be fine against? I will take that. Is that sort of like saying DWill was not fast enough to guard Tony Parker?

No, I just gave 3 examples. Just like the person who said he couldn't be a SF gave 3 examples of people he couldn't defend.

I wonder if any of them can defend Hayward in the post, or keep him from shooting over them. Hayward will create mismatches as much or more than he will be "mismatched".

So you are saying there are far more than 2 or 3 2-guards in the NBA quicker and/or better than Kobe? I would like to see that list.

Yes, there are a ton of guards who are quicker than Kobe. Also, everyone is referencing this ONE game he had against Kobe. The Lakers were in a funk coming into that game and playing their worst basketball.

So if he can keep up with say, Kobe, there are still a good 15-25 faster guards that will render his attempts to play the 2-guard futile?

I want what you are smoking, that's for sure.

Fair enough. I think he creates more mismatches at the 2 though, although there he also plays against more mismatches.

His performance will be largely a product of match-ups as has been mentioned before, imo.
