Ferguson called this kid before the draft. He was friends with the kid that was killed in the auto accident and was driving right behind him at the time. I wonder if that might have scared some teams to not draft him.
 
Concerning our commitment to Butler’s development:

I said I’d check back in at about this juncture. I wasn’t going to get pissed before now, but I’m getting pissed now, fwiw. Things are bound to get even worse for Butler if we aren’t going to rest Conley in b2bs.

The player that was taken just before Butler in the draft was signed to a two way by the Kings and has spent most of his time in the GLeague. It seems like the Jazz need to fish or cut bait with him. Let him have some meaningful minutes with the varsity or have him play with the JVs at a minimum or 35 minutes a game.
 
The one game win string is in tatters losing to the Ignite in OT. Hughes and Fitts looked like hot garbage. Alston had 20 points and Jared Wilson Frame had 17 poihts.

That many poihts is impressive. I don't think I have ever seen even one.
 
Stars win big tonight over the Cavs GLeague team. Former Jazz players Justin James and Malik Newman had big scoring nights for the Cavs. Carsen Edwards had 25 and Hughes had 22 for the Stars. Hughes looked really good imho. No Fitts tonight and I wonder if he is getting close to being cut. A lot of teams have made moves with two way players in the last couple of days and the Jazz may see that as an opportunity to sign a better player. Derrick Alston had a nice line tonight. Also all you Rayjohn Tucker fans, he got signed to a 10 day contract by the TWolves.
 
Stars second win in a row. Carsen Edwards and Derrick Alston leading scorers. JJ Avila with a double double. Hughes looked like dog poo and no Fitts. Thurl Bailey's son had a nice game scoring in double figures.

I said Boston was a reasonable pick in the early 2nd round due to his upside--maybe similar to a guy like Isaiah Todd. Later in the 2nd round, Boston was a no-brainer.
 
The restart of the GLeague season has been moved back about 10 days because of covid. It was supposed to restart Dec 27 and that has been moved back to Jan 4.
 
Macio Teague is no longer with the Stars. He and two other Stars signed overseas deals. The two other players JJ Avila and Jared Wilson Frame had been playing in a league in Mexico before joining the Stars. The Stars added three non-descript players to take their place.

If Sam Merrill clears waivers can he be picked up by the stars even though he’s injured? How does that work?

He is a free agent and any NBA team can sign him but if the Stars want to sign him I think they would have to acquire his rights from the Memphis GLeague team as Memphis is who waived him.
