What's new

Deron won't sign extension with NETS so with JAZZ.

So....D Will opts out. Utah re-signs him as a FA. Corbin and D Will's coup is complete. Championship here we come!

;)

I have thought about this a lot ever since the trade. I realize there is no chance of it, but if it were to happen??? Wow. Imagine the things they would say about Utah, lol..........

The fact that that is possible kind of blows my mind.

It doesn't seem likely, but it's possible.

Paul to NY sort of forces Deron and Dwight to unite somewhere if they want to win though. So the Paul news killed what hope I had left of Deron returning.

Paul, Carmello, and Amare aren't going to win a championship. Offensively that is monstrous, but are there enough shots to go around? Who plays defense? Can they beat LeWade Bosh?

IF Dwight Howard and Dwill combine, they will crush the Knicks trio (assuming they have some decent role players). Damn, I hate the Knicks new potential trio even more than Miami's. Each one of the Knicks is the most overrated player at their position.

Not seeing a wink or "/sarcasm" sign--
you really thought that there was even a remote possibility of Deron returning?

<<scratching head>>

If Favors explodes for a 20 and 10 season, Kanter proves to be good, Hayward shoots lights out, and Burks proves to be that missing 2nd playmaker then it could happen. That's not too much to hope for, is it?

This is all an exercise in fantasy, but personally, I don't see Deron as a coat-tails rider in the vein of Piss or Marshmelo. He'll do what he thinks gives him his best chance to win and still sniff his market-value. If that happens to be a hot young team with cap space to spare, then I wouldn't put it past him. Dude's a bit of a lone wolf in the modern NBA, and it's one of the reasons I like(d) him so much.

No, it's not too much to hope for, but I just can't see it happening.

As professional as players try to be, I have an even harder time seeing DWill look past the abrupt trade. Sure, there might be a chance that KOC and him have kept in touch, but I just don't see it happening. He's too emotional and has to have some sort of resentment.

I figure the Jazz will be ready to attack for the ring in 2-3 years. A lot of things can happen in the NBA, including a proper PG for the Jazz.

Except for (1) the relative inability for the Jazz to paid Deron what he thinks he deserves to be paid, (2) Deron's (and his agent's) relative preference to be in a large market (with larger sponsorships), and (3) a possible reluctance of Deron to return to Utah given the circumstances under which he was traded, then no, it's not too much to hope for <<sigh>>.

Which is exactly why we got rid of him... And ended up with quite possibly the best big man in that draft...

Awesome!

KOC needs to be praised. Could you imagine the hell we'd be going through right now? Everyone would be panicking!

Although he might resign with NJ eventually, just the uncertainty and stress of it all.... Not worth it.

I'm so glad we got Favors and Harris.

Kanter and hopefully a solide player with GS's pick.
