For a bit I thought I was going to witness the greatest victory in Jazz history (ok, a bit of hyperbole, but still).

That said I can't even be mad. It's obvious those guys weren't used to playing that many minutes and it showed. Great effort by them.

Name one announcer that is worse at play-by-play than Bolerjack.

Paschall is a RFA this offseason. I'm wondering what he'll be offered by us or another team? I wouldn't mind signing him for around 3M per season for 3-4 years - his depth is nice to have and he'll keep DM happy. It simply makes sense. I know he can't rebound well and he isn't exactly a solid defender but when he gets in a rhythm he's fun to watch.

I get resting players, but resting 8 at once is ridiculous. The Western Conference standings will come down to a game or two max so to purposely give up a game makes no sense. Why not rest 2-3 players max at a time and still give yourself a real chance to win.

I don't know the names of other teams announcers (who the **** would?) Since I don't follow other teams but this season I watch all the jazz games on internet streams and often it's the other teams announcers and they are worse than bolerjack. Often.

It was something to do with Canada and their covid rules. Basically the jazz sat those players out this game so that they would miss less games going forward.

We weren’t resting guys. We were trying to keep the bulk of our team away from being stuck in Canada for 2 weeks in case they tested positive for Covid. Their Covid restrictions are stricter than ours (which are basically nonexistent).

Imagine what our record would be if Spida, Conley, etc had tested positive and couldn’t even come back to the United States for 14 days?

Bob Fitzgerald (the Warriors guy) is much worse.

Also, it depends on what you value in an announcing group. I value a group that doesn't whine all the time and aren't total homers to the point where they can't see reality. Which is what happens when you watch the Warriors, Pelicans, Nuggets, Kings, etc. Like I get that you want the team you work for to win, but at some point you have to acknowledge that a foul on your team is actually a foul on your team.

So House could be the 10-15 minute guy we’re looking for. Not because he’s an amazing defender, but simply being okay really shines with us. Royce has carved out a lot for himself here being an okay defender. If you have House in the floor with other rotation guys, he’s able to do all those Royce things you like and is a willing shooter. Perhaps Quin is more willing to play him than he would a Shaq or a Dunn.

We kinda already had that player in Oni. Oni was not a good player, but we were plus a million with him because he stayed out of the way. I think Hughes, Paschall, House…anyone with a pulse could probably fill in there. As long as they stay out of the way and not actively hurt the team.

That’s the problem with Forrest. The offense bends to him because he has to ball, and if he doesn’t have the ball we’re playing 4v5. You could argue we’re still playing 4v5 when he has the ball because he won’t shoot…

I do think Quin likes that he’s a “playmaker” and taking some burden away from Ingles. There was a lot of talk about how Ingles got a little run down from playing so much PG last season even though he was great at it. I think it’s an understandable concern and I’m fully on board with saving Joe’s legs for the playoffs. I just think we’re doing it with the wrong guy. Butler can be successful player as a main ball handler and also a guy who stays out of the way, he just needs reps. The skills are all there.
