His defense during this span has been infectious and when he plays like this he’s a top-5 player in the league.

I dont think I alone caused this, but I do think the criticism from media, his teammates (Gobert at least), and fans have caused this.

And yeah, I know people like Lopo want to hate on Gobert for going public, but him going public caused it to be a larger narrative in national media, and it got to Donovan's ego.

As good as Don's game was last night I liked his post game interview the most. He made note of Rudy's impact being back in the lineup and how the team has connected after the losing streak. Then stood up against bullying with the families who recently lost children. No matter how you feel about him, I think he has a good heart. (He's also pretty good at basketball. )

Right after Gobert went public, I was all for it. For a solid month, as I watched the games, I couldn’t just enjoy the games, because most of my energy was spent cussing the tv out for the lack of hustle, intensity, and care for that side of the ball with exception for Gobert. When he made those comments, in my mind I was saying it’s about damn time Gobert said something. Considering the way I felt, just think how Gobert felt getting thrown under the bus by his teammates lack of defense.

Had Gobert been as bad, then talking would’ve been a big no no, but he was walking the walk, so he could talk and it turned the team around. If this causes Don to not want to be here then he shouldn’t. Time will tell.

Fresh legs probably helps a lot to.

Whatever the case, this team needed a major reality check to be better in the playoffs and I just hope that the lessons learned will still be going strong in a couple of months.

I agree. However, I wish he’d said Don by name rather than throw out general blame. I think Don would respect that more. Maybe not initially. But over time, I think he would and I think it could help their relationship in some strange way. Idk. Maybe not.
