Anyone here have any opinions on who should challenge LSU for the National Championship?

Personally, I would hate to see Alabama get in. They already had a chance to beat LSU, and on their HOME TURF no less. Even I, an SEC fan, do not want to see this match-up again. Add in the fact the both teams had bye weeks leading into the game. Both teams knew this was basically an automatic bid to enter the BCS game and treated it like such.

I would vote for either Stanford (Heisman QB vs Best D) or Oklahoma St. (Weeden to Blackmon). Give another team a shot.

I vote OSU as well. Alabama is probably the better team than OSU BUT they already lost to LSU & they didn't even win their own conference. Stanford didn't win their conference either so I would take OSU over them too.

I would much prefer to see OSU get the crap kicked out of them than watch Alabama again. Actually, I probably won't watch either of them. But I think there is something fundamentally wrong when a team can't win their own conference is allowed into a national championship game.

I'm not too excited about this. I think a few teams got screwed... And Alabama playing in the championship game despite not even winning their division and being idle while everyone else was playing is a complete joke.

The fact that LSU could have lost their SEC championship game and still played in the championship just goes to show how much of a joke this system is.

I wonder if bama or LSU will actually score a td this time? This could be another epic FG and punting contest! LSU by 3! Unfortunately, 3 points is about all LSU is gonna score! yay! Sooo fun!

I wish we the people could decide on the matchups. How fun would it be to watch a Stanford vs Wisc smashmouth game? Or a OSU vs Oregon track meet?

I know I'm in the minority here but I wanted to see Alabama. OSU would get smoked imo and Alabama is clearly the second best team. They just happened to be in the same conference as LSU. And while they did lose on their home turf, the game went to OT, their kicker was God awful, and Alabama may have played better overall.

I'm not saying my opinion is right here because I totally get where everyone is coming from. It's just how I feel. I think LSU is playing better ball now and that Alabama has taken a tiny step back and that LSU will win by 17-24. Sounds crazy but it's what I feel I've noticed the last few weeks.

Their kicker is still god awful and he will have 1000x the pressure on him now because he will be in a neutral site that will probably be Pro-LSU (New Orleans).

Actually he's one of the better kickers in the country. He's 16/20 on the season. His leg strength is simply average or below average.

It doesn't really matter. Without some playoff format the championship is really not a championship. I would rather see Oklahoma State play LSU.

They have two kickers. One who kicks the 40+ yarders, he has made well below 50% on the year. You are referring to the short distance kicker, who is still terrible but he gets mostly sub 30 yard tries.

It's kind of weird, but I'm kinda glad the NBA is starting. Now I won't have to watch this crap anymore.

A bunch of corrupt bowl games inviting a bunch of undeserving teams play in bore fests. Why does a computer decide this again while every other sport imaginable actually lets the teams/players decide?

I'd much rather have a tournament and see the results decided on the field. I'd also love to see what would happen if Wisc and Stanford ran into each other... Or who would win in a OSU vs Oregon track meet. Or watch Boise run circles around the highly touted Crimson Tide. Or watch someone like TCU upset LSU. Leave out the junk like West Virgina. Take the top 16 teams and let them kill each other off. The last one standing is the champion. That's how it's decided in every other sport.

You obviously can't put things into perspective. Have you seen the number of field goals that most college kickers miss? 80% for field goals (under 40 yards or not) is still very good for the average college kicker.

Maybe for normal colleges. Top schools shouldn't have this problem.
