Paul to Warriors: Jazz Fans Worst Nightmare

If the Warriors are able to land Paul doesn't that make them an automatic playoff bid? Thus lowering the value (but guaranteeing) of our 1st round pick. This may be fate telling us to draft Kendall Marshall though with the Warriors late teens pick.

I'm risk adverse so I'd rather us being guaranteed a pick than Warriors tanking the season to get back the pick..

We have enough decent rookies that can become future starters in C, PF, SF, and SG. So I wouldn't mind a Marshall pick neither...

I've been hearing rumors Paul is completely against signing with The Warriors long term though, so this deal is likely impossible.

Would the Warriors be able to leapfrog four teams to make the playoffs? Maybe.
At best, we get GS' pick in the 8-14 range. If they make the playoffs, maybe that pick drops to the 16-18 range. In a deep draft, 6 spots may not make that much of a difference.

Clippers and Lakers seem like the only possible candidates now because they have the assets and the allure of the big city to keep Paul.

With this shortened season and very little TC time, it'll take half the season for FA signees and traded vets to adjust to their new team...

If I'm NOH, I'm not sure I'm psyched about getting Andrew Bynum or Pau Gasol. Either would probably get traded to another team, meaning a third team could get involved, which was in another thread.

Clippers have the best assets. I think they can put together a good package without offering Eric Gordon. Something like Aminu, Bledsoe, Deandre Jordan, and Minnesota's 1st round pick. I doubt the Clippers would do this without a guarantee from Paul though.

The Warriors might have the toughest sales job of this bunch, but there are additional reasons for cautious optimism among those fans who want this trade. As was the hope when owners Joe Lacob and Peter Guber hired Jackson, I'm told Paul is among the many players who respect the former New York point guard and ESPN analyst and see him adding credibility to their situation.

This made me lmao. I believe Chrissy is playing the Warriors for suckers, and is really just trying to help his buddy Chandler boost his value.

Could you imagine if KOC were in the same position with Deron this season? I'll take Favors, Kanter and the future GS pick over anything that is currently rumored for Paul. Oh yeah, and Devin Harris as a "throw-in."

Yes it was a good move, but I think Deron would be much easier to trade because he wouldn't be as picky to where he landed. Chris Paul right now seems like LAL or NYC or bust. I think Deron would be open going to a team like the Clippers, Thunder, and Mavericks. \
