What would concern me is CP3 needs the ball in his hands more than Conley does. If Donovan doesn't get to dribble - that takes away all of his dribble-drive moves. Part of the reason CP3's points, FG%, 3P%, and FT% went UP this season vs last season - he had the ball in his hands a lot more. He would probably be a better fit than Conley, but for how long? CP3 with be CP36 years old by the end of this season, and when players of that age get an injury - it's often their last injury.

Also Paul does nothing to help with our length and defensive backcourt issues.

Phoenix is taking a huge gamble. OKC took his contract with nothing to lose and everything to gain (draft picks).

Just bumping for the revisionist history that’s being going around lately. About half of the board didn’t want anything to do with Paul.

I actually thought we should throw a pick with Conley halfway through CP's year in OKC. People bitched about the salary. Imagine how good CP would make Rudy look? We might have a title if we had done it.

You know we had no chance the moment we traded for Conley. We fired our shot one summer too early
 
Also one can argue we will end up pay more for Conley than Suns did for Paul.

All we need to do is to get to the play-in tournament then lose.

There you have it. Memphis will gladly take a lottery pick from us then go on to compete for a championship at the end of the regular season.

None of our takes on here aged well turns out....sometimes being a Jazz fan feels like being a Bills( Buffalo)fan. Die hard and passionate fanbase, seem stuck in the middle and when there is hope? The s*** burns down around you.
 
True. In hindsight the Jazz should have bet on the 33 year old instead of the 31 year old. But I understand why they did what they did. According to every analytic - it was the right move. Mike Conley had the reputation of being a great locker room guy - CP3 had a reputation of being otherwise, etc. You win some, you lose some.
