Conley, Bogey, JC, O'neal, picks they collectively have value. Maybe a team liked J Butler in the draft, The GS trade, none of those players have proven themselves and it would be total rebuild which DM wants no part of. Oh I didn't see Wiggins. Not a big fan but he is ok. People are basing their opinions on one or two articles even when DM and Gobert have denied them. Teammates do not have to be buddies to win championships. If we trade away Gobert we need some young proven players and not guys with potential.
A few? And what, you expect someone with as meticulously crafted a public image as Donovan’s to say, “yeah, I dislike Rudy, our fan base, and the market here so I’m basically biding my time. I for sure have a foot out the door while I’m dangling the keys to the franchise above everybody’s heads.”?
It’s been a growing chorus. Furthermore, blowing it up is exactly what most people would prefer if one got traded.
Lastly, what does:
-a 36-year old PG that’s one of the shortest in the league and been showing serious signs of wear for years,
-a 33 year-old that’s good but on an expiring contract,
-an atrociously inefficient volume scorer,
-a 6’ 6” (in shoes) defensive “stopper” except against guards or screens,
-few (to no) tradable picks that don’t cripple you in the inevitable rebuild
get you that makes you better today and doesn’t destroy the future? You could probably flip some of those players for (late) 1sts from a desperate team (or at least multiple 2nds), but a desperate team isn’t sacrificing better players than what they’re getting back.
