Blow the !@$%!%#$ Team Up

He can't shoot? After 20 games, he is shooting 55% from 3 this season for Barcelona. His defence alone should have warranted him Plenty of playing time during his time at the Utah Jazz.
He did get playing time here. Lmfao. League in Barcelona is like a high school league compared to the nba. Idiot!!

length. athleticism, defense, youth, all attributes which Dante Exum possess in abundance. He should have been the starting point guard. Instead Jazz and Snyder got rid of Exum, and preserve with players with lower ceiling like Royce O'Neale, Mitchell and Neto . Then he Traded for Conley and Bogdanovic which were big mistakes. Snyder has no clue.
I know that your disdain for Donovan was fueled by thinking Exum and Simmons were so much better than him, that I understand this must have been a really rough year with both of your guys combining for 0 NBA minutes this season.

All depends on what you can get for Mitchell.

Can you get two starters, a lottery pick, and a good future first for him? Then maybe you rebuild around Gobert for a year or two and try it out.

If you can't, just blow it all up.
I would consider this route but we also need to recognize fully that Rudy has limitations and may age out before we get really good again. The issue becomes getting great value for Donovan and Mike... cuz I think Mike is washed but likely still has okayish trade value... but might only get like a first and cap fodder for him... that doesn't help you be competitive now.

I just think you collect offers on all the key parts and if there is a good one for Rudy (I'm sure there are plenty of good ones for Donovan) then you just blow it up. I think the easiest route long term is a blow it up move but most franchises can't think past the next 18-24 months so I doubt they actually do it.

The jazz would not go far in the playoff with Donovan, too selfish as a player, does not play defence.

I think ideally you hold onto Mike for another year. I think he can have a other solid season the. You trade him as an expiring the following year.

But if you can package him with Donovan and it makes sense I would do it

Yes, the Jazz team needs a complete overhaul. The coach has to go. Trade and get rid of all players and tank for the next 5, 6 years.

I did some light research on other guards Mike's size and age... next year is likely the cliff year... he may have hit the cliff late this year. If we did hold on to him I'd bring him off the bench and keep him in the 24 minute range and sit on back end of back to backs.

I'd be curious to see what the offers for the guy would be. Maybe Donovan sits and some greatness flares up in Mike for one big game in game 6.

If we are making a major shift or "blowing it up", I see no reason to keep Conley if he has any market at all. That's not fair to him, and although his contract isn't fully guaranteed for 23-24, it still isn't a clean team option.

Mike needs to go unless we simply cannot trade him.

I think the Lakers, Clippers, and Wiz would have interest... and we should move him. There is a lot of money in that partial guarantee but could be stretched and waived next year if you needed the space. I generally agree though... any shift or blow up then I think Conley is moved and either Donovan moves to pg or you are just blowing it up so don't need Mike at all.

Dallas may lose Brunson and you could do a move with the Mavs too... I think Mike will still have some value even though he struggled this series... all of our guys struggled so that might not stick to just him.

Dream Team for next year:

Mike Conley
RJ Barrett
Bogey
Chet Holmgren
Rudy Gobert

Clarkson/Fournier/Burks/Whiteside/Grimes

Knicks pull the trigger on this deal because they don't have to give up too much in terms of future assets. It's not the monster haul of picks everyone likes to dream about. They give up their first this year (which is contingent on being in position to draft Chet or Jabari) and Dallas's first next year. They also give up two 2nd rounders in 2023 that project to be early 2nd rounders.

Jazz get Chet. Him and Gobert become the most feared defensive duo in the NBA. RJ breaks out as a primary option star, averages 24 on the season. Burks comes back to Utah better than ever as the primary backup PG to Conley (who will be playing reduced minutes). Fournier teaches the team how to play with Gobert. Jazz Win the ring in 2023.

Frankly just moving Mitchell could net us enough to pivot directions and keep moving forward. We should get a good young player and picks for him easy. That is the move that makes the most sense to keep winning.

I think if the Knicks give up a top 4 pick they keep RJ... if they are smart any deal they do for Donovan also includes them keeping RJ... they sense I get is they regard RJ as in a similar tier to Donovan or that he will be there. Could be wrong and his shooting percentages dropped this year. He could be better on a team with more shooting (or some shooting) and I think Randle is kind of the worst type of guy to have RJ with.

I could be 100% wrong... its all theoretical... but just giving a slight counterpoint. They also might be desperate to improve and ready to make one of their short sighted dumb moves.
