This was a pretty good mock draft.
Everything he says seems pretty plausible at this point.

I'd be surprised if they would take Gay.So looking at what might be available at 27 when the Heat pick... one of Kendall Brown, Laravia, Williams, or Moore should be available. I think we could do a Bogey and Gay for Duncan, 27, Vincent, and Yurtseven deal that would benefit both teams. Bogey is the best player in the deal. Duncan is a contract they need to remove and is probably paid 25-50% more than he should be... would still be useful for us. Gabe and Omer are solid rotation options that are cheap. The deal would end up saving us like $6M on the cap... which is an important number if we are going to duck the tax... we are like 7-8M over. Miami isn't in the tax next year so some extra salary is okay... and you know Gay would get on South Beach and turn back the clock 6-7 years.
Then you cross your fingers and pray Brown, Laravia, or Williams are the next Bane level late draft find and you may save the Rudy/Don retool. Fail and its not catastrophic. I know its kinda meh and we'd like something bigger but that is kinda the types of deals we need to do in our position.
Duncan is on a 5/90... so Gay at 2/12 may look fine. If they were completely opposed to taking Gay we could put NAW in the deal and it is roughly the same current year savings. Waive and stretch Gay if he is a real attitude issue. Boom you are under the tax.I'd be surprised if they would take Gay.
When you say Sochan as high as 6, you are up in the night. If it turns out otherwise, I will be the first to come back and eat crow. You have turned on me smh
Wendell Moore maybeWho is this year's Herb Jones?
Not necessarily the exact same type of player, but a 2nd round prospect (likely upperclassmen) who you think can have an immediate impact on a team's ability to win.
Look to be fair if you had watched a lot of Knicks basketball over the years you might think Julius Randle is good too.Knicks fans think they can trade up in the draft using Julius Randle. My guess would be that they can trade down in the draft using Julius Randle.
i'd add bryson williams to that list - otherwise pretty good list. and yeah, liddell is a mid-first guy. he'll go around 20.Wendell Moore maybe
Jalen Williams
EJ - though he is a surefire first... Williams might be too.
Laravia
Christian Braun - Maybe more of an Austin Reaves type of impact here.
I think EJ is the only guy I could feel has a good shot at being a starter at year end... think we are looking more for a Donsunmu type impact player... someone who becomes your 8th/9th man and sometimes gives you more when you have injuries.
And he helps fix the defense how?If I were the Jazz and I was planning to keep Gobert and Mitchell together for another season or two, I would try to get a pick in the 17-20 range, draft Nikola Jovic and hope he's the next Gallinari.
And he helps solve the defense how?
I mean this is all an exercise in futility. But the draft is how teams find good two-way players, at least that would be the case with the Jazz if they had any ****ing picks. So this is all an exercise in futility. He doesn't really, other than being big and long and likely grabbing his share of rebounds. However, if the Jazz can replace Conley and Royce with better defenders, they can still upgrade their defense.

That being said, the only way I'm not drafting a prospect with real two-way promise is if they have substantial odds of becoming an all-star. The main issue with this team besides being ****ed in the head is that they don't defend.
