What's new

KD

It makes you wonder, what if the Jazz hadn’t traded Rudy. Would we have had enough to get Durant? DM, Butler, whatever picks we had, etc.. Isn’t that kind of what the Nets are asking for now? And seriously, why did the O’neale trade happen at the same time as KD’s trade request?

So picture it, Durant in Utah. For 4 years. With Rudy. Wow.

Gobert
Durant
Bogdanovic
O’neale
Conley

Suddenly Gobert’s playoff limitations don’t seem quite as drastic when you’ve got Kevin freaking Durant on the court with you.

And then there’s KD’s legacy (he doesn’t have one), but man would he become a legend if he brought a chip to Utah. In fact, Utah may have been the perfect place for him personally. He belongs in a small market. He gets too involved with media, etc. He could have been our Duncan. Instead he’s probably heading to Toronto or Phoenix. Missed opportunity?
We didn’t have the draft capital to do a trade like this when Gobert was here. We do now. KD didn’t need a Stifle Tower in Golden State just Draymond. Psst, we have our Draymond in Vanderbilt! Ostensibly all it would take is Donny Boy, Beasley and four of the firsts we picked up. Course I’d rather give up Beverly than Beasley but they probably wouldn’t go for that. Title City Baby!

You'd have to be delusional to believe this guy would stay in Utah for 4 years. He'd force his way out by the first trade deadline. There are some players that just aren't realistic options for the Jazz.

My Warriors-fan brother picked up rumors of KD to GSW in a package including Kuminga, Wiggins, Wiseman and Poole. He (my brother) wants loads of picks going their way, I think reality is they would go to BKN, but I guess it's just a no-starter. I think Nets will have to run it back with KD, Kyrie, Simmons (and Royce!) and see if they can make it work.

Don't think KD will go to GSW
Sounds like he burned all his bridges there
Yeah, don't think so either. I don't see how on earth Nets get what they're looking for. I think they will roll back with KD, Kyrie and Simmons next year, tbh.

Where would the 4 first round picks come from? The Jazz already have them LOL.
We’re so lucky on the timing side. If Durant had of asked for a trade before the Gobert deal I’ll bet the Wolves shift gears and negotiate with Brooklyn. Alternately I think the Durant request temporarily killed any kind of traction we had with the Knicks on a Mitchell deal. I guess we’ll never know for sure.

Good post on both points.

The only two teams i can see playing lets make a deal with the nets for KD are the Lakers and the Knicks and I can't see that happening. Maybe Chicago go all in? But I doubt it.

Suns might still be interested, but Nets will have to lower their expectations drastically.

Bridges and 4 picks (plus cap filler)? The CP3 window isn't forever, so Suns might be looking at two or three years. If they trade the good stuff to get KD they won't contend even with him, so it would have to be based on picks.

I think Nets run it back with KD, Kyrie (or Westbrook...) and Simmons (and Royce!) and hope that things work out. If it does, they're dangerous.
