We have enough talent to be a .500 team.

Rudy and Royce are better than Beverley, Beasley, Vanderbilt nd a rookie for sure, but we aren't going to lose 20 more games than last year just with that change. Also add in that Rudy Gay should actually be used this year.

I think you are underestimating the improvement of the west. Lets not forget that last years team was a below .500 team the last 44 games of the year. Even if we had kept Rudy I think we would have been a below .500 team. As it stands right now though this is how I see the west.

1. Clippers
2. Warriors
3. Nuggets
4. Griz
5. Suns
6. Wolves
7. Pelicans
8. Lakers
9. Mavs
10. Blazers
11. Kings
12. Jazz
13. Thunder
14, Spurs
15. Rockets

That should put us firmly in that top 7 to 8 of the lottery and a definite chance to jump into the top 3. If Mitchell goes down at all for an extended period of time during the season though we could easily be in the bottom 2 of the west. We can tank without even necessarily trying to tank during the 1st half of the season because the west is so damn tough which makes resting guys the 2nd half of the season real easy.

Probably so, but this one has the best prospect since LeBron and best PG prospect since Rose.

Dude. Kid is super skinny and much more unproven than say Doncic who was dominating FAR more and against grown men in the best league in Europe.

We’ve had Dwight, Towns and Anthony Davis since Lebron. It is far from. Foregone conclusion that the kid will ever become even close to as good as those guys. My money is on no.

You know Wemby plays against grown men too right?

Luka’s per 36 his last year before declaring for the draft:

19.2 PPG, 8.5 RPG, 7.5 APG, 0.6 BPG, 1.7 SPG

Wemby’s per 36 this year (has one more year before declaring for the draft):

18.4 PPG, 10 RPG, 1.5 APG, 3.5 BPG, 1.7 SPG

For someone who is 7’3 and has this type of defensive presence while also being able to stretch the floor and shoot from 3 is just unheard of.

I also said the best prospect not a guarantee of anything.

Okay, let me say it for the second time. One was doing it in the best league. Doncic was a euro league mvp, a euro league champion, a euro league final four mvp. And playing more minutes in doing so at 25 minutes per his last season and 20 the year prior.

Wemby has played 16-18 minutes a game the last two years in a far inferior league without all the accolades and awards that Doncic had.

As far as prospects, he’s really not the best prospect either imo. Davis was. Davis, if healthy, could’ve gone down as a top 25 player ever. He’s that good when healthy. He’s just never healthy.

Tanking no idea. Fishing yes. FO wanted the biggest catch in return. They want no less than 1st round picks and/or defensive players. They installed a new young coach. If we do well, FO will be labelled as brilliant. If we go south, blame the coach.

I agree with you about Davis.

From a very reliable source ( that i cannot mentionned here confidentiality reason) : We may tank.... or not.

And for Don, we may trade him...or not.
Hope it helps :)
I'm stunned. This is the best insider info we've ever had that did not originate in or near a best buy.

It's more about potential for Wemby. Doncic was ready and already playing at a high level which makes passing up on him look ridiculous. I don't really believe Doncic improved a ton skill-wise, he is still a fatso during the off-season smoking hookahs and all. There really isn't comparing their talent at the same age, Luka is far superior.

That said, 7"3 with a quick jump from anywhere, defensive instincts, shooting touch with a solid base for passing and ball-handling is incredibly rare and it's not hard to fathom those skills fall in place with a more open floor in the NBA.

Giannis averaged less than 10 points in the 2nd division of Greek league. Wemby has better defensive numbers than Gobert than he did in the same league while being a lot younger. It's really hard for skinny tall guys to be dominant against grown men in Europe

I’d hardly say shooting 41% from the floor and 28% from 3 is dominant.
