I think they have a trade lined up and now will get a few additional offers.

We'll probably never know, but to me it's pretty obvious how the Jazz have positioned themselves. This report really shouldn't have surprised anyone. Whether it's more Mitchell demanding out because we have a **** roster, the Jazz trading Mitchell because he "secretly" wants out, or some combination of both/neither....I don't think it matters to much. Even when stars are being extremely public about their trade demands, it hasn't really resulted in a worse package. Teams want superstar players and for good reason. When the fomo comes, so do the offers. I think the Knicks will ultimately feel the anxiety of losing Donovan for forever and beat out whoever else is on the market. If we get lucky, Danny can make them negotiate mostly against themselves as he did with MIN.

I somewhat agree... although the next move would have been the real test imo. You could say the Minny haul was so great we did it even though we didn't want to... then you send a pick out for John Collins or Ayton and it is a retool.

My guess is they have something palatable and genuinely wanted to rebuild. Now they collect another offer or two and execute whatever they feel is best.
 
At very least it indicates to NY that we are close and they will have to show their cards now. Don't tell them what else is on the table so they blind bid against themselves. Danny may have used the cooking the frog with boiling water technique on Minny and might use it again.
 
I could also see the Toronto scenario as well...
 
Could it also be
4) telling the nets to **** or get off the pot with the KD deal. We got multiple moves that need to happen. Everyone knows where KD wants to go and everyone knows what those teams can offer.
