Preseason Game 1: Utah @ Portland, Monday Dec 19th, 8pm MST

I've watched two preseason games thus far. Wolves-Bucks and Jazz-Blazers. The Adelman-led Wolves look 10X better than the Jazz. I realize that we're talking about one pre-season game, but I have a bad feeling we are going to be in the division cellar this season.

We saw Enes, in Euroleague, rebounding big but unable to make a pass, then he got it down after just a couple games.
We saw him missing too many shots, then within a few games was hitting them.
Same with rotations, etc.

I'm not implying he'll get it all together in a few games, or even this year, but I bet a whole lot of people will find it remarkable how well he'll get better from game to game.

God I hope you are right.

Kanter was terrible. Yeah, he plays OK in the paint (awful in the high post). But he's horrific defensively right now. And he's even getting schooled in the low post. He's far away from being useful in an actual pro game.

Kanter was not terrible. You are trying to start a negi-Kanter train.

He had two super embarrassing moments when his perimeter D was put to test. I think Kurt Thomas shook him?

Fail. From what I saw, Kanter had 2 years worth of rust and the jitters. He has good footwork and uses his body very well.

Okur had to guard Gerald Wallace and Batum. I think (not sure) Kanter went up against mostly backup big men.

I could not figure this out. Why was Ty having CJ/Haward guarding Wallace while Okur/Favors guarded Batum? Weirdest thing I could not come up with a rational reason for.

He rebounded very well and hit his FT's. Other than that he played pretty bad. Luckily though, rebounding and hitting FT's are very important and could land him 10-15 mpg.

Didn't say he was all-star, but he was not terrible. Terrible would be a terrible description of his play.

Seeing if Hayward or CJ could handle a physical SF (Wallace may be the most physical one). Testing Okur?
