What did you guys get your parents for Christmas?

I haven't bought anything yet for mine. I actually had gifts for my mom, but she recently had one of those big multiple of 10's birthdays where everybody makes a big deal about it and buys her everything under the sun, and somebody bought her the stuff I had gotten her for Christmas so I had to take it back. How about you?

Also, do you guys think I could get away with one of those "free Hugs" or "free trash takeout" coupon book things that were my go to gift when I was little even though I'm in my mid 20's now? Maybe a shoddily self-made birdhouse or something?

The booklets are great. I made one for my girlfriend a few years back. On top of that though, I also bought some gifts. Here's some ideas that come to mind.

1) Day at the spa...or at least a massage or something.
2) An ornament for the Xmas tree. Chicks love this ****.
3) Nice slippers or a comfy robe for night time.
4) A DVD or two...
5) Books

That's all I have for now...you get her a book or two, a DVD or two, either some slippers or a robe, an ornament and you're only out $100 or so. Add in the IOU booklet and you're good to go. The coupons are huge though. Be creative.

I was totally joking about the booklet and the birdhouse. I could see how the booklet might work with somebody you're in a relationship with or something, but not my parents at this point. The Spa thing is a good idea, I think that should be part of it.

My parents also absolutely hate IKEA so I think I might just buy them a bunch of crap they don't need from there and some of those Meatballs from there that they hate too, just to see them be forced to put on a good Christmas happy face for all the family that will be there opening presents, even though they'll absolutely hate the stuff on sight.

I didn't get anything for my dad yet and have no idea what to get him. I hate buying him presents...he always makes me go return them. :\ My mom on the other hand, already hinted that she wants a $200 food processor and $150 cast iron skillet. Yeesh!

I gave my parents one of those coupon books when I was younger. They didn't think it was very funny and threw it away.

My parents are the type that pretty much have everything and anything they want. We usually just promise to take them to dinner once a month so we can sit and visit with them.

A Kindle Fire. And condoms. Don't ask.

I aligned myself with Satan and got my Mother an iPad. I curse myself daily.

My parents are not electronic savy so went with a cheaper pad $200, dad a sweater, and mom some socks with stickies and made her a blanket.

i got my mother nothing but instead of cookies and milk i will leave santa a present. an all paid personal trainer for a year.
so next year santa wont be a lard fat ***. and finally can fit through my chimney
