What's new

Woj: Don to the Cavs for Markkanen, Agbaji, Sexton, three unprotected 1sts, two swaps, and a partridge in a pear tree.

The players I think should stay along with who I think probably will stay even if I don't necessarily agree with it are:
In no particular order.

Sexton
Markkanen
Agbaji
Beasley
Azubuike
Bolmaro

Fonteccio
Horton-Tucker
Juzang
Kessler
Vanderbilt

Johnson
Sneed

It't too early to tell though. We have to take on players when getting rid of who we need to get rid of. We will have to dump some players. Way to early to know who we will have left to know who might be on our roster at the start of camp.

With doing zero research and being completely lazy, I think the ones in bold are my best guess right now at the core for now. I'll probably watch some video and see how right or wrong I am. People used to hype up Stanley Johnson a lot, did he end up being good or fools gold?

Pretty clear that this is the Ainge response to the Rose power move. I actuality like the RJ + 2 protected and 3 protected picks better (assuming one of the unprotected picks was 2026 or later).

Nope. Jazz can still give them a haul for those two picks.
Sure, it just seemed to me that a superfluous protected pick in the near future or Knicks rookie scale guy (cuz we don't have any worth a damn) would clinch it. I'm a little more worried now that the Jazz can't get all the way to two unprotected picks.

So I will instead hope that they can negotiate "down" to '27/'29 swaps and '28 unprotected.

Yeah... that is probably a better offer in the end. But maybe there is value in signaling to the rest of the league that Ainge doesn't bluff.

As far as we know Don is good with teammates. He also know he wasn't with Rudy. Was that cause Rudy's a dork, or cause he called out Mitchell for not giving defensive effort and ballhogging.
After the honeymoon, will Don create more drama? Diva Don is his nickname for a reason.

Glad this is finally done, at least the major pieces. Conley, Bogey, Clarkson I expect all will be moving soon.

Transitioning from rooting for a team with high expectations, to a tanking team, actually feels like a relief. High expectations change everything. It will be nice to watch a Jazz game now and not be devestated about a loss.
But will you be devastated by wins?

I don’t know. I think I’d rather have Sexton + Markannen + Agbaji + 3 unprotected 1sts + 2 pick swaps.

Those protected 1sts from the Knicks don’t really do much for me.

Fact of the matter is if the Knicks came with RJ + 3 unprotected 1sts then Donovan would be on his way to New York.

I actually think this is a better place for DM because I think Cleveland is better than the Knicks.
You assume that Don's motivations were that he just wants to win, yo.

If he wanted to go to the Knicks, then I intensely question that advertised motivation.

We watched him hunt for highlights as much as he played good fundamental basketball and as far as I'm concerned, he just as likely purposefully wrecked this team to get traded as played in earnest.

I don't think he wants to be in Cleveland (I sure as hell wouldn't), I think that kind of **** matters to him, and I'm happy he's probably frustrated right now.

For me the 2 knicks unprotected picks far outweighs the three from cleveland. Add in the 3 protected picks if the knicks were actually offering that then you have a better offer in my opinion. I think the cavs picks are almost guaranteed to be in the 22 to 30 range.
