Trade Rumors Involving the Jazz

Teams get desperate for shooting at the trade deadline so it may not cost anything to offload him especially if you get really bad non shooters back on an expiring deal. We ain't winning a lot this season so we can play these games. In a normal off season I wouldn't touch him.

No, you're definitely going to have to attach a 1st to get someone to take him with that contract

You can't have infinity developing prospects and reclamation projects on your team at the same time. I'm not that worried currently as I think it works itself out, but there are still only 240 minutes to go around per game. You have to prioritize and at some point you aren't playing a guy and he just becomes a bad contract.

Maybe in a very specific trade deadline situation more than a year down the line. Robinson right now has one of the worst contracts in the NBA but it will get less-bad with time.
So if Duncan is 8 million wasted salary then in 1.5 years you wasted 12 million for a pick. If you can offload him in 1.5 years then it is worth. Danny would have to maneuver again but he is the one GM who could do it (the anti Miller philosophy of becoming a hyper trader).

I would also bundle a trade with Miami, Lakers, Pacers to get 2 unprotected (Miami could miss the playoffs in the East if Jimmy gets injured - the East way too loaded now) and two pick swaps. See my earlier post.

I'm feeling empathetic to the players and especially their families right now. It has to be hard to have their lives in limbo. I guess that's part of being an NBA player, but I'm sure they are looking forward to knowing where they are playing in two weeks
Very true. And being done in a way that would have never happened in Utah in the past. Big culture change going on. Has to be incredibly difficult for the coaches in terms of prep and planning as well. Drives a pretty generic approach to schemes. Danny's Dumpster Fire, perhaps by design.

Some interesting comments from Romana Shelburne. Says the sense she gets from talking to people around the league and with the Jazz is that they can get deals done for Bogey, JC and Conley any time they want, but they're not in any hurry to do so and are going to take their time. Also says she's hearing that if the team gets off to a good start, the Jazz are going to let them play and see what happens.

From her comments, it doesn't sound like the Jazz are planning on tanking, and it doesn't sound like they're at all worried about having too much talent on the roster and winning too many games this season. Maybe this is all just posturing by the Jazz, who knows.

We know 2 players at least have to be cut. If I was one of the 'bottom of the barrel' players, I'd be in the Jazz training facilities every single day with staff to make sure it's not me going home.

I think we could move Stanley Johnson for a 2nd and maybe do a 2 for 1 before we start waiving players.

Beasley is non-guaranteed next year or we keep him and he’s an expiring. Conley may have more value as an expiring contract. I’m not sure what Clarkson’s value is right now but I’d move him if there was a deal that made sense.

Nah, Bogey doesn't require sitting half the games and he has versatility defensively and offensively. Bogey won't hamper the development of young players that require the ball in their hands like Conley does. Conleys gotta go.
