Mitchell says he told Jazz to keep Gobert

I can’t say enough just how satisfying it is this douche is not on my team anymore. The part in the interview where he tries to act like he disagreed with Ainges assessment is funny stuff. You were a pathetic team and you were one of the most pathetic parts about it. You were a horrendous leader and you deserved the trade you got. And at the end of the day, you won’t have played long enough stretches of your career or accomplished enough in those places to have any sort of real legacy. Bye bye loser. Enjoy Cleveland.

I would be so bummed as a Cavs fan after today. Conversely, I feel better about the trade on our end. Hopefully he does to that team what he did to ours for our sake.

That man at his press conference said “I was a Lebron fan but I was a Cleveland fan” He has no shame whatsoever lying for whatever PR he can, even if it’s the most obvious lie in the world lol. Sad for Cavs fans they have to deal with this douche.

This is nothing but image control by Mitchell. Ainge stained his image so he needs to repair it. But the whole world could see it. The stats showed it, and the results were self-evident.

Could happen both ways. And Don works on his D just as soon as Rudy works on his post game.
That's the funny thing. Gobert has been working on it. It's better than his first few years and has been at least equal if not better each of the past few years. He just doesn't have that ability. Mitchell on the other hand was a plus defender and has degraded to a ****** defender. He has the ability, just refused to use it. Those things are worlds apart my friend. Give me the guy that tries over the guy that won't any day of the week.

I just watched the presser. IMO it(the quote about him wanting in NY) doesn't sound as bad in the full context of the quote as it reads in the few media titles I've seen. That's one thing you absolutely need to give to Mitchell... he's incredibly media savvy. One might say elite.

I can totally see DM telling the Jazz not to trade Rudy but I don't think he wanted to run it back; he probably told the Jazz to keep Rudy for a selfish reason - so they'd trade DM to New York.

Of course, the Jazz received an offer they couldn't refuse and Rudy was moved; moving DM to Cleveland was a big, joyous middle finger.

Joakim Noah was 100% right about Cleveland - it sucks. I grew up less than 100 miles from Cleveland. Though I'm going to have to venture into the ******** that is Cleveland so I can watch the Jazz.

If he asked for them to bring Rudy back it was probably because his camp thought there was 0 chance the Jazz would trade him and understood that the only way the team would be competitive is if Rudy was still on the roster. Keeping Donovan and taking a major step back without Rudy would've been pretty terrible for his brand and how he's viewed around the league. Because it would've highlighted that he's probably not good enough to carry a team and that Rudy was more important/impactful when it came to winning.

Let’s not start making stuff up now lol. Gobert has never worked on his post game in a meaningful way.

Donovan just not giving a **** on defense is infinitely worse though.

He did say he was extremely close to going to New York and knows more about the situation than most.

Mitchell did a podcast episode with Woj. It just came out this morning. He said it is easy for Ainge to look at the outside-in and get his own perception but it was just Ainge’s assumption after being around the team for 6 months that they didn’t believe in each other. He said that’s not fair to say after 6 months. Seems to be a slight dig at Ainge.

He also said Coach Hardy was at his house in Connecticut when Rudy was traded. He said they were talking about ways they could make it work.

Did Donovan miss when the team collapsed in the playoffs and Quinn Snyder stepped down as head coach?

Look... It's a nice thought. Let's run this back. But the second half of last year was one of my least favorite years to be a fan of the team. Outside of the Corbin years, I can't think of a worse display on the court. It was bad. Who wanted another one of those? No one.

Also, DONOVAN SPENT ALL SUMMER IN NEW YORK BEING AS PUBLIC / PRO NEW YORK AS HE COULD BE. Events. Wearing Mets and even Knicks gear. Hanging out with celebs. Nothing about his actions said let's run it back. Sure, part of him probably said we can do this. Let's make it work. But his actions spoke volumes to me.

I would really like to have a PhD in engineering by running back to school. But am I going to? Nope. But it's a nice thought.

I don't think Don is a bad person. Far from it, I am extremely appreciative of him kicking Utah in its lily white complacency and trying to do the rights things for the community. His championing on social issues was a welcome revelation.
I also believe him to be one of this generations most gifted scorers and an underrated playmaker. He has all the hallmarks of a player that will probably have a Hall of Fame career. I want Don to be successful in Cleveland and where ever he goes. I believe him to be a good man with a good heart. But I do believe he was... inaccurate about the roster situation.

It was very hard to miss how the team did not trust each other and the core was simply going through the motions since the Clippers series. It wasn't going to get any better without an overhaul.

Don goes on to do it even more on the Woj podcast lol. Shameless stuff. Yeah Don, we believe you. You not only couldn’t but REFUSED to say any of these things over the past 2 years publicly but now you wanna spew word vomit. Go away bro.
