Jazz Weigh-in comments

Millsap was suppossed to lose weight to be able to play small forward not gain weight. WTF

Hard to believe Jefferson is 290. He looked pretty quick though on some of those spin moves though, and should be able to overpower most players in the post rather than jacking up push shots.

Powering through people is as much a question of mentality as it is a question of size. That's never been Al.

And Burks - just visually - proved he hit the weights hard this summer. He might have to lose some (hopefully not, but he looks a bit bulky for his frame).

This.
I think the added weight (most likely in his core) will improve his balance, explosion and his change of direction skills - so hopefully Al will move better and finish stronger at the rim but it won't change his playing style - where despite all the shots he takes in the paint he'll never be a guy to get to the FT line 7-8 times per game. Unfortunately being in better shape doesn't improve your ability to pass out of a double-team, but it's still a positive sign for some improvement.

Sad that Evans lost weight, I really hoped he'd put on some. Maybe he's serious about becoming a 3, it would be a good career move for him IMO. (fits his developing game better if he can improve his shot)

If Evans wants to become a rotation player in the NBA he's going to have to become a 3. No team is going to give him regular minutes as a strict 4 unless they're totally bereft of bodies.

I think he could get there. I've said for a long time that his jumper just needs reps and I believe that more than ever now. If he can add a spot-up 3 pointer to his game he suddenly goes from a PF that gets pushed around and you can't keep on the court very long to a monstrously long SF

Think that was always kind of a pipe dream. He was a senior when drafted at 23 years old so what you see is what you get from a physical standpoint. His best bet now is keep working with Hayward on those jump shooting contests to be able to halfway play the SF position.
