Happens every year. It's not bad for the players, they get NBA coaching which will help them when they play overseas, and they do get paid after all.
The Howard signing doomed Paul Carter, but rumors are he may play for the Idaho Stampede (per Brian T Smith), so he may be available in the future anyway.
No surprises there. The cuts knew they were going to be cut. Make a few bucks, get someone to look at them from the NBA. I'm sure they enjoyed the experience.
Also the Jazz sometimes find people that manage to stick around in the league instead of going back to D league (Gaines, Jeffers and Matthews). Let them showcase themselves a little. Hope they all succeed.
