Is Olynyk a taller Joe Ingles?

He's definitely a upgrade to Bogey, who I think is the better comparison. His shooting is, incredibly, better, at least for the present. His defense is clearly better... love the willingness and care to take the charge... and his scrappiness is waaay higher. And that doesn't even mention his height advantage. Being able to play 3 (4 if you count Vando) 7 footers together is ridiculous.

Didn't figure any of that when we acquired him.

I think bogey is the better shooter but KO takes better (more open) threes so that helps KO’s percentage. Plus bogey takes way more 3’s volume wise.

Olynyk is not the volume shooter or scorer like Bogey though. Only shoots about 3 threes a game. If he doubles his 3P attempts, his percentage is gonna drop. But yeah KO is a better all around player than Bogey.

I love what KO brings to the team but I dont think he is Joe or Bogey. Plays a different role but would have been a great stretch 4 on our previous team. I dont think he is as good as Bogey or Joe in his prime but if he plays all year like he has the first part of this season it could be a different story.

I havent commented on this as I'm kind of on the fence with KO. His box out fundamentals are off and his rebounding is the biggest reason why I'm not sure.

Against Hawks Capela was playing volleyball with himself, winning boards and throwing bunnies way too much. Its not on KO alone, but if he is the guy guarding the center he needs to get between his man and the basket more consistently. Part of why Kessler looked so good coming in was that we were struggling so bad at our own rim. Its rare that you win a game where the opponent gets like 20 shots more than you.

Out of 59 players 6"10' or taller that play over 10 minutes (And KO plays 26.5!!!!), KO has the 2nd lowest rebounding percentage (7.9%). Only big guy that has a smaller portion of all rebounds in their average game is.... Franz Wagner.

The Horford comparison is actually a really good one. He is clutch, savvy, good passer, high IQ, etc. I have been very pleasantly surprised on how big of an impact he has made.
