Donovan Mitchell - CRT and Off Court Racial Issues were Draining

Donovan is spewing bigotry that only perpetuates negative stereotypes of Utahans. His personal anecdotes don't add up to much but him going public with it moves society backwards. He should shut up and dribble and since he or no one else outside of here will read that, what will it matter.

I for one won't be cheering for that bigot in sheep's clothing when he returns.

No athlete should just “shut up and throw/pass/catch/kick/dribble/hit/etc.”Before they’re professional athletes and entertainers, they were human beings first. Attempting to silence people based on their professional careers is wrong. Shame on anyone who thinks this way. They should have the same rights to speak out just as anyone else.

Anyone who thinks athletes should just “shut up” instantly loses credibility in my eyes.

I’m not accusing it. I’m saying he is racist. Because he clearly is.
He might be, might just feel strongly about some things that you don't understand , but chances are pretty good you will assume he is racist, because it feeds your animal. You can't make someone into something, based on their generalization of the majority, as shortsighted as it is for him to do.

say what you will, but a lot of players try to make it seem as if they wanted something to happen after the fact, based on reasons outside of basketball, so as to minimize their own failures on the court. Everyone knows the Don Rudy blowup was the best play for Danny to make. No one person really cares that much about one mans opinion of a city, especially given its just his opinion and not a proven fact. We won't see fruit from the deal with CLE for a couple seasons probably outside of some small victories. Overall I don't care what he said at all, everyone has opinions , and his is just yet another take by another athlete who thinks his words have more meaning because of his following. People need to think for themselves
Donovan has millions of followers and then even influence in the league. His words and actions affect people. He wouldn't have a shoe deal if others didn't want to be just a little bit like him and unfortunately, people cling to hating on other people based on race, sex, religion and/or the color of skin. He absolutely is influencing others to laugh at and simply hate the people of Utah.

It's similar to the issue of Ye's words but on a smaller scale, and I'm assuming you thought that Ye was wrong.

Okay, okay...let's see the forest through the pine needle and criticize Donovan to a scaleable level.

Because you are a nobody on the Interwebz you can spew your opinion, but DM can't express his because he has a larger audience/voice that may expose your historically racist little world and damage your little false vision, he can't? That's the "forest for the tree"? Let me guess, you are all about free speech, as long as you approve what is said?
Maybe, if you can't back up your "historically racist" comment with facts (you can't), you should just shut up and talk about basketball.

he could have 500 followers like I do, and still make more of an impact in the world if his words are truth. People need to think for themselves and if they are not, and are so easily blown by the wind like you are suggesting, there is no hope left for any race

Donovan's words are biased though and only partially true. There is racism everywhere but becuase people want to put others down, too many of those who hear his message will believe that we are more racist than is actually true.

I thought you were better than this, thriller. Donovan is making it harder to recruit players and keep them longer term with the stigma he is perpetuating about the people and the fans here. Its obvious bigotry and I'm just surprised you aren't taking an issue with that.

Essentially stating the fanbase is too white is racism. Now go f*** yourself with your rationalizations for racism.
1) Mitchell didn't say that. In fact, he doesn't refer to white people at all in the article. That was the interviewer.
2) Cursing won't make anyone think you know things when you're clearly ignorant and so proud of your ignorance that you make stuff up to justify it.

because you don’t both feel so taxed by all the white people and then ask to stay when it’s wide open for a trade. They are totally contradictory statements and sentiments.
If you've felt contradictory things at the same time, you are truly a simple man. Frankly, I don't believe you there. Sometimes we hate those we love, we get tired of things that excite us, etc. Humans are complicated.
