Fire up the Trade Machine

I think it’s easier for LA if you did it with Bev and found a third team (may be challenging of course).

LA is worried about giving up picks but I wonder if you set it up as a super swap in 2027 with any pick we currently own (Minny, Cavs, Jazz)… maybe add a swap in 2026 too plus some seconds… then they can trade their other picks and the bad half’s of the picks they swapped. I’d rather have the pick outright but maybe that is what gets the job done.

yup. too injury prone to give up that much for. not efficient enough on the offensive end and probably not as good defensively as his reputation would suggest. i wouldn't give up two unprotected firsts for him.

bottom line, if the asking prices is three firsts, he's wildly overrated.
Agree, three firsts is too much. But for me he has a lot of value in his age. He's already considered one of the best defenders in the league and will be better in his peak years.

There's some rumblings that the Jazz should consider trading for Lillard to go into win-now mode. Craziest idea in a while.

Dame is 33. He's the current poster boy for terrible late stage contracts given to declining, undersized, injury prone scorers. Apparently GM's just can't stop themselves from making these same mistakes over and over again.

Hard, hard pass.

Clarkson and Beasley for OG and Trent Jr would make this team much better short term and long term. There is some risk to it but it would greatly improve our defense which we need a lot of. I would gladly give up this years worst of our 3 first round picks and probably one more.

I would make some other moves as well if we go this route. We really need to make trades regardless of which direction we go. Clarkson, KO, Beasley, Gay, and probably Conley all need to go this deadline. Conley should only be traded if we can net an asset for him. Gay should be used on contract filler for something else. The other 3 should net us assets. Preferably younger players we like. How about any of the Wizards bigs? I am okay with trading any of the rest of the roster besides Lauri as well for the right offer. If we somehow get Victor we should also make some big moves to build solid guys around him and Lauri.

If we were lucky enough to get Victor, then we should trade JC and Beasley for sure. Offense has to be managed by Lauri and Victor which mean having PG who pass well but don't shoot like hell. I'm dreaming to see Victor and Lauri with Mike, Colin and Kessler. For me will be a fantastic starting 5. The top will have to get another good PG and a big better than Kessler (at that stage) but i ask a lot.

No there aren't any rumblings of this.

Please no.

Wait. Kessler at center, Victor at power forward, and Lauri at small forward? Holy hell that is a huge lineup.

Only problem with that full lineup is undersized backcourt and oversized frontcourt combo would be so detrimental to the perimeter defense. Any 6"5 or taller shoot & drive guy would have a field day against us.. and there are plenty of those guys out there.

Thoughts on Cam Reddish...latest rumor was the Knicks wanting 2 2nd round picks for him...in my opinion 2nd round picks have become useless, so if that's all it takes. I'd definitely take a flyer on him...at almost 90% as a free throw shooter that tells me he has some untapped potential to be a really good shooter...let Will Hardy work his magic and help him develop.
