Trade Rumors Involving the Jazz

Don’t forget we traded 23 for 27/38 and the Knicks turned around a flipped 23 for 25/33. We could have drafted Bane at 25 and still have gotten Udoka at 33.
Look it was a comedy of errors.. how do you give up second round picks in the future to dump Ed Davis and Tony Bradley while simultaneously making a pick as puzzling as Tony Bradley at the time and (lets be honest) making plans to sign Favs to a contract that is at least 25% over market. Then throwing yourself barely in the tax... just enough that it requires moving a contributor to get out of the tax. I called all this stuff out at the time for anyone that wants to throw out hindsight. We went full stupid on stuff that should have been pretty easy... DL went full THT.

I do specifically remember you and infection doing the math and realizing we ended up over the tax after that deal lol.

Our defense is still a problem. We'd have to shore that up somehow. Even putting Kessler as a starter hasn't helped. Kessler's defensive rating as a starter is 115.8
Aah... but Lauri missed 2 of those games and he played with Beasley, Clarkson and Conley all in.

Kessler + Lauri defensive rating.

For the season: 105.8 (457 min)
Since Kessler became starter: 97.7 (41 min)

Shams did say we are the most engaged with Atlanta regarding John Collins. I would do Beasley/Vando and then swap our BKN/PHI pick for their 2024 SAC pick.

Reminds of when people thought we weren’t trading Gobert or Mitchell. We are definitely making at least one trade. I’m like 99.999% sure.
Yeah my only pause is if there is only second round value placed on Beasley and Vando and the Hawks don't offer up draft assets with Collins... trade deadline deals can dry up and if you have your hands in the wrong deals you may turn to the alternate deals and its too late.

I think its funny that some forget how this works... Like 2 days before the deadline is when deals start... Usually there is a deal after the 12/15 or 1/15 moratorium on the guys that signed in the summer. If there are deals during the dead period they are emergency style trades and aren't usually big deals.

Wow. That is quite impressive. That’s definitely something.

That is the recipe for us... Lauri/Walker are mfers at the rim and we are a good defense... we get mega efficient production from Lauri on high volume and Walker on low volume... then JC provides good average offensive production... the challenge is improving the defense on the wing and making sure to do it while having efficient floor spacers... It is why I really want to see Ochai starting instead of Beasley.

At least for now that's how I see us becoming a 50 win team again.

As of right now... my prediction is we trade both Beasley and Vando and get a first or two for it. I think you keep Mike unless something great comes along and you can also use his salary in a sign and trade.

I also think we buy Rudy Gay out after the deadline and there will be much rejoicing.
