No, in fact I took a substantial prestige downgrade and a $50k/yr decrease in salary. There really isn't a bright side here. I screwed up my career for a woman who turned out to be harboring significant issues for the entire time I had known her and didn't bother to tell me until I had already quit my job and the timing made it so that there was essentially no going back.

I know it would be a major pain in the *** but have you called your previous firm in Northern California to see if they'd want you back? Sounds like it would be worth it.
 
Kicky, I'll go on the record by saying that you need to give her a booty call, get her to come over, give it to her nasty (or as nasty as you're capable of) and then kick her the **** out and tell her "I hope you die."

Unless it was amicable and you hope to perhaps get back together. In that case, just jump off a bridge because that's pathetic as all hell.
