What's new

My thoughts on the Jazz so far (yes I know it's early)

So far when favors has been in the game to start we were ahead both times. Then he gets in foul trouble and instead of just leaving him in, he gets yanked for millsap.
Then gasol, and nene go off on millsap and jeffersons sorry Defense and we get blown out.
I think the thing to like about favors so far is that when he is in we outplay the other team.

At the very least last night put Favors back in the game at the end. Take out Howard and put Evans at the three and see how that works.

In what ****ing universe is Millsap the problem with this team?

I looked back at all the posts and i dont see any posts saying that millsap is the problem with this team. I dont know what you are talking about.
My post was probably the closest thing to criticism of Paul and all i said was that millsap and jefferson dont play defense very well TOGETHER. Never did anyone say that millsap is the problem with this team.

You can calm down. we all love millsap. I even bought his jersery before the season last summer.
I think millsap is the least criticized player on the whole team and rightfully so.

I think Favors is the key to the team. I think his +,- was +6 last night. He just cant reach. Occasionally go for the block but get your damn arms straight up Favors!

Anyone want to see a lineup like this:
Tinsley
Burks
Hayward
Favors
AJ

2nd team
Watson
CJ
Howard
Millsap
Kanter

Trade Bell and Harris for whatever you can get. Tinsley had +7 and 4 assists in 10 mins. Lot better than Harris at -13 and 2 assists

You definitely haven't been around long.

Im talking about this year, and more specifically THIS THREAD.

If you are talking about people saying millsap is the problem with this team in the past and in other threads then you should probably post about it in those threads.
This thread has not been mean to poor millsap

I just want to know how you put Favors at #1 for the things you like so far? What has he done in the two games that has him at #1 on your list of things you like?

Because us having Favors is about the only thing we have going for us.

Seeing a lot of people that are upset right now with this team. Really if you look at who we played, with the team we have, I don't understand why you anyone would be expecting anything different at this point. We played the Lakers in what turned out to be a pretty much "must win" on there home floor because they lost there first 2 games (yes the mighty Lakers had the same record the Jazz have right now 2 games in). The Lakers also had 2 games into the season to work out some of the problems were it was the Jazz first game. And they played like it was a young inexperienced team in there first game. Then we travel to Denver (who blew out the defending camps by 22 in Dallas). So I personally would have hoped the games to be a little close maybe but not much else.

Favors just needs to stop fouling
Hayward played much better in the second game 10 points, 7 board and lead the team in assists. Not great, but nothing to be depressed about.
Burks came to life at the end and hopefully replaces Raja soon in the line up.
Kanter is a rebounding fool and well find a way to get shots up with a little court time under his belt

Have to say that I like Corbin mixing the youth with some Vets.
Our Vets have to find a way to be better. Harris has been plain bad. Jefferson is not shooting very well. Raja sucks (I know shocking). CJ still chucks to much.
Millsap has been steady and really needs to be the one to be the leader on the team IMO. He just isn't vocal enough.

In summery its way to early to be completely up in arms when we are only 2 games into the season and lost both on the road to playoff teams. Lets give it a few more before we throw in the towel.

How is Favors #1?

Kanter hasn't played in a kajillion years and can stay on the floor a lot longer without making rookie fouls. I know they both play a different style of defense, but still.
Honestly, the only 2 bright spots on this team for me were Milsap and Kanter. Hayward, maybe....he just needs to defend loads better. I was picturing Kanter to bust, but now I really think he can be an integral part of the future.

Hopefully Favors gets more touches on offense, but it would take Big Al to be quadruple team to even consider passing the ball at this point.
