2023 NBA Draft Megathread

When I've watched him, he disappears for long stretches. He rebounds and defends, but doesn't seem that special to me.
yup, he's a classic 35-40 type pick. long, athletic, shows some ability to shoot, but the production just isn't there. really good rebounder though. i'd take him in at about 40 and be very happy.

It sounds like Atlanta is about done with John Collins. His contract is big enough that they haven't been able to move him and get back the return they want. Jazz have shown interest since last summer, but reportedly wanted draft compensation included. I'd look at Atlanta as a potential destination for Hendricks or Jackson. It looks like they'll finish in the play-in range again. Atlanta has been playing Jalen Johnson, but he's still mostly a non-shooter.

The fact that the Jazz have shown interest in Collins this long might also suggest they're a potential Hendricks/Jackson destination. Maybe Sidy Cissoko can get in that discussion?

lol. atlanta. they've had so many opportunities to dump collins but overestimated his value. idiots.

If Hendricks can play some minutes at the 5, he'd become very attractive to OKC, who reportedly wants to play Chet at the 4. OKC is getting pretty loaded everywhere but at the 5. I think they believe in Shai-Giddey-Jdub-Chet going forward.

NOLA is another team that loves long wings and could use a backup plan at the 4 when Zion is out of the lineup. They've been playing Herb Jones up a position to cover and it's not ideal. They also need a point guard, however.

Between OKC, Atlanta and NOLA, I'd expect long, athletic wings to come off the board in the late lotto and mid-teens. The Minny pick should fall in that range as well, hopefully.

Hendricks has twig legs. Not a 5

I think Hendricks can be like Jerami Grant on the Nuggets--guards multiple positions, adds weakside rim protection, spaces the floor, fills the lane, can play minutes at 3 - 5.
Hence my point-aka a solid 2 way sf/pf in a archtype that is difficult to find without drafting . (Unless you want one that is past his prime or costs a lot lol)
I definitely don't agree with the idea he is a role player ceiling at all though, at least not in the eyes of most scouting departments who would seek to develop his game further being 19 at the time they draft him
