2023 NBA Playoffs Discussion Thread

Pissed that Embiid only got a Flag foul 1. Embiid’s *** should’ve been tossed.
Maybe. I think what draymond did was A. Worse and B. A pattern of bad behavior. So I dont see the two things as equals and dont neccessarily think the two should have the same punishment. I agree that an argument could be made that maybe Embiid should have been tossed but I think its much less obvious in embiids case. Draymond being tossed was a no brainer.

I did see that Harden and someone else were both tossed in the sixers game last night. Did they both antagonize the crowd on their way to locker room too?

Yes he is. Has there ever been a more talented yet passionless duo than Paul and Leonard? They’d be up 3-0 if they cared enough to play in this series. How many more years will be lost by the Clippers hoping that one year both of these guys will care enough to play through the owies? They’re only getting older…
Spot on about passionless, it very much just looks like a job for them. Even when they are playing at their best they still seem so stoic and disconnected. It is no wonder they don't really inspire their team mates. Even in Toronto, the inspiration and passion was from Siakam, not from Kawhi, even as Kawhi was their best player without a doubt. It might just be their personalities, but they do anything but inspire their teammates to greater things.

Yeah they aren't equal, but Embiid had a wind-up and follow through with zero play on anything except a very vulnerable part of a defenseless player. How is it any different from a punch, just because it was a kick? Hell, he might be Punch-Kicker, who knows? He should have been tossed as it was a wantonly malicious act. Not of the same severity as Harden, but most definitely the same category.

Probably would have been tossed if it landed. I doubt harden gets tossed if he doesn't connect and I doubt draymond gets tossed if his stomp hit nothing but air or the court instead of sabonis chest.

Looking at it again, it did connect. Maybe not full on in the nut pan but his foot made contact and, even though Claxton played it up a bit, was part of why he fell after the kick. I get it was a glancing blow but the intent was still there and there was contact made. This is like an attempted murder vs murder, the bullet still hit just didn't do the same amount of damage. I think he still should have been tossed. NBA and their shitficiating all over again. Terrible and inconsistent, and inconsistently terrible. But since the league owns all of it, well they can't have Embiid suspended for a game, would be bad for revenue, so his is overlooked. Such ********.

I actually think PG gets way more flack than he should. I think he gets hurt and I think he cares.

I could not begin to tell you what goes on in Kawhi’s skull but he’s built his reputation. One of the weirdest NBA stars ever. I’ll feel bad if he legitimately has had the issues that have sidelined him, but I just don’t believe he can’t play through some of this.

From one of those angles, you can see Sabonis’ sternum compress and re-expand. Draymond used the part of Sabonis’ body that contains all of his vital internal organs as a ****ing trampoline.

I honestly think they should weigh banning him for a year. Players get worse punishments for doing cocaine.

As far as the nut thing, I mean, he didn’t connect (and Claxton was very obviously instigating. Like, actually and clearly).
