2023 NBA Draft Megathread

Even if you like the Twins, to deny that the competition is suspect is totally irrational. Somehow we're supposed to think that one single game in TBT just erases those concerns? Even if it was one game against an actual NBA team that's just one game. It doesn't mean they will bust, but the reality is they aren't proven.

If this game is so important, it should raise more question marks because they made a combined zero jumpshots and had the same amount of turnovers as FGs. A single TBT game being some kind of trump card is laughable to begin with, but why are we pretending like this was some legendary performance to end all doubts. They showed some stuff for sure, but I don't think anyone has really questioned their athleticism. They did not play bad, but they did the things we all know they can do.
No one has said that. You just cant be a little bitch about OTE to the degree you would like to be because the Twins do have actual varying levels of competition on their resume, you just have to actually do the slightest bit of research which is going to be too hard for most casual draft followers.

The argument for any top draft pick is always talent. Competition level isnt as important. Of course it would help if everyone was on an equal competition level so we could see those differences, but that isnt going to be the case ever, even when guys all play in college.

You arent saying "Wow, lets draft Wemby because of all the winning he is doing". You are drafting him because you are saying "Holy **** look at his arms and how he moves". If Wemby was playing against 12 year olds you still take him 1st overall because the talent is that apparent.

Now, that level of talent isnt apparent with the Twins, so I'm not saying it's a 1:1 thing, but the talent is extremely apparent. The fact that in the TBT game they were able to step on a court with grown men who play professionally and their athletic impact was felt is good enough for me. Everything else just comes down to how workable you think the skills they dont have are, which is going to come down to individual workouts.

Flexing being ignorant is never good. I'm sorry you just started watching basketball last year I guess, because you're someone who proports to follow the draft but cant even remember one of the top college players from 2017 and would rather choose to spread stupidity than do simple google searches.

Here is the full roster:

Admon Glider
Austin Chatman
Deion Bute
Deverell Biggs
Greg Smith
Jahenns Manigat
Ken Perkins
Manny Suarez
Marcus Foster
Ronnie Harrell
TreShawn Thurman

I have legit only heard of Foster and Glider. Most of them played in the mid 2010’s and are nearing their 30’s.

Also, is anyone saying the twins shouldn’t go top-10? I even said I would probably take Amen at 4. Cy making up arguments and using the Creighton Alumni team as the gold standard of talent level is pure gold.

What's with this huge influx of people just making **** up when you bring present them evidence?

"The twins only play against 16-19 year olds and they are 20"

*shows people a game they played against international pros"

"Nah that game doesnt count not enough Luka Doncic's playing*

Serious question: I haven't followed GG Jackson but wouldn't he be a fantastic long-term project that wouldn't cost a high draft pick?

I'm expecting a team to take GG in the 10-14 range once he interviews and works out for them. If he slides past Sam Presti, Masai Ujiri and David Griffin, it probably means that something went wrong in his pre-draft process.

Yes, this is how TBT works. There's a 2 million dollar pot. Not every team is loaded with the best of the best, because you have to pay the players from the pot. Some super teams get formed where guys take a lot less money, but most are going to have a clear top tier of talent then middle and lowers guys.

TJ was just rambling on the other day about how they were cooking in the TBT lol. That's who I'm talking about. You can think they are good or they aren't, that's personal opinion. If you think OTE and one TBT game is amazing competition that is a joke. You can think they are amazing and also that the competition they've faced is suspect. Both things can exist.....but if you're trying to pretend like the competition was good that is the stretch of the century. It's like denying the earth is round in order to win an argument. It doesn't strengthen the argument it makes you look comical. I love Bilal, but I would look like an absolute fool trying to convince people that the Junior French league is amazing and should not be a question mark.

The level of competition is a real concern and question mark. It's comical to act like one single TBT game just erases that concern.

The competition level is not a concern. It's only a concern if you question the talent which I don't question.

If you have questions about the competition level, TBT isnt an elimination of those concerns, but it should help alleviate them to some extent. The Twins put a positive impact on the game against grown men. I'm not saying the Omaha TBT team are the GOATS, but they are grown professionals.

The tools are very good. A good development system would skyrocket him. He should be one of the three picks.

My wish list outside of winning the lottery so far...

GG Jackson
Hendricks
Bilal
Brice

With the right attitude I think he can be a role player, but I don't agree with the high potential label people give him.
Maybe, but maybe not. Good development could help him a lot. He has the ingredients to be really good. It just the bad experience in S. Carolina has soured people. Well, Lauri had bad experiences too and just was put in the right place.
