I have thought we need to trade up from 16 but I think I'm fairly comfortable and confident either Bufkin, Hawkins, or Leonard Miller is there. Was listening to Sam Vecenie on Miller and it really made me think... some of you likely know this but I guess he broke his wrist for like his senior year in HS and was 6-7ish at the time. So this is "his first year playing at 6-10/11" according to Sam. He has wingspan, height, and motor... put up bonkers G League stats especially the last 15 games or so... If we don't get Hendricks or Walker at 9 I think Miller at 16 is something I'd be pretty stoked about.
 
Miller's shot mechanics are wonky but the FT percentage is good and he made enough (from an NBA line) to believe it could work well enough.

His shot is significantly less fugly than it was before. I think it's been good for him to be a little less point forwardy and more of a relentless rim finisher. He can be like Harrell on offense but with much more defensive potential.

I think he's in a similar boat as Clowney for me. He's good enough to be drafted at #16.....but it's not a huge need and I like the other prospects there so while I like the prospect I don't love the pick necessarily.

Wouldn't be my first choice of guys that could be there... but I like him as a fall back type of option. I think there are likely guys at #16 I would prefer... but if every GM drafted like me and took "my guys" I think Miller would be one I'm cool with.

I've thought about 16/28 for 21/22 with the Nets as there are quite a few guys I'd be okay with in the top 20ish. I think we could actually get a sweetener in that type of deal. Or maybe you go 28 and THT for 21 and Harris?

It all depends on who's on the board at the time. I expect there to be a lot of trade action because there are so many players in similar tiers/groups. I still suspect that there's a good chance we trade up from #9.
 
I know Brice isn't a favorite here, and the reasons why are valid, but man he is a bucket. I'd be interested to see what the reports are on his character/work ethic. I subscribe to the fat = potential theory. I think he can be the next Bogey. Bogey is probably more of a fluid athlete in transition, but I think Brice has more in his bag and I don't cringe thinking he will turn the ball over when he calls his own number.

Still not a real candidate for #9...but at $16, not bad at all.

Can anyone point to a "fat" player who lost a substantial amount of weight and got better?

Fat players are fat players probably because of genetics. Some people just hold onto fat and perform better with that weight.

Maybe I should say fat = underrated. You're absolutely right about genetics and holding onto weight. I think people are too quick to call (relatively) fat players unathletic and maybe overrate players that are more lean. There are a bunch of players who are better off with extra lbs instead of being leaner. But there are certainly guys that did change their body composition and got better for it. Jokic and Draymond come to mind immediately.
