2023 NBA Draft Megathread

He won’t be there at 16.
In your opinion, but guys inexplicably drop all the time that you don’t expect. And a pg with limited skill is definitely a candidate to drop. Some teams will overlook the defense because the offense in their opinion isn’t up to snuff. I would just prefer not to take him at 9

A skinny Sensabaugh will be way better than a fat one.

Daily morning chant...GG, Bilal, Brice, and a chance of Wemby and Ausur!!!

The Anthony Black disrespect on here is honestly appalling at times.
I have him slightly behind Cason but not so far that workouts and the combine couldn't change my opinion. I think he could be a higher ceiling player but he's a unique player and it can be difficult to make it work if the shooting doesn't come around. The theory on him is real good... Cason slightly ahead cuz he's more normal. I would be excited to take Black and totally get it if someone would have him higher... I'm a fan.

I love him but the problem is he is going to go in the 5-8 range so we won’t get him unless we moved up a little.

Black or Cason? I could see either being taken before we pick. I would guess that Black has like a 40-50% chance of being there and Cason has like a 75% chance of being there at 9.

Once we see the draft order we can start to map out people to destinations and identify trade up possibilities.

@Handlogten's Heros
@Saint Cy of JFC
@Ferguson_Mellochill

Let’s say we end up with the 9th pick, what do you want us to do? Curious who each of your guys is. Take someone at 9? Go up and get someone and if so, who and why?
I'm coming around to the idea of just taking the most talented player possible. So GG Jackson probably or if someone unexpected drops, but I think GG would still likely be the most talented available.

Hopefully the lottery will give us a better pick and that most talented player will be even better.

Maybe. I do think GG could legitimately be a top 5 guy in the draft.

The talent level really does pop. He's not going to blow anyone away with measurements or testing numbers, but he's a great overall athlete. He moves very similar to Tatum IMO while having a bit more size. Even though he's incredibly raw, he has some of the best footwork in the draft. His shot looks beautiful to me and he showed the ability to hit some deep 3's. He has incredible balance on his tough shots. I know guys like KqWin will harp on how he didnt make a lot of those shots, but they all looked like they should be going in.

Yeah, a lot of his "process" stuff sucks, but I think most of that is coachable. He tried to be "the man" on the worst team in the toughest (at least defensively) conference so him struggling was expected. If he didnt that would mean he was a potentially generational talent. I dont think he is that, but I do think the is potentially a very dangerous scorer who can challenge for ASG's in his prime. Hopefully everything that happened this season was a wake up call for him that he isn't that kind of talent where he can get away with whatever and he is ready to be coached and play hard to get on the court.

I would like to like Anthony Black more but his shot just looks terrible and worse than that you can tell he has no confidence in his ability to shoot. He needs more mechanical work on his jumper than anyone in the projected first round (yes, even more than the Twins).

All that being said, he would be consideration for me at 9. I love the size, athleticism, and feel.

Feels like Hendricks has been rising lately, I'll be pretty surprised if he is still there at 9.
I think it depends on a couple things... if Indiana stays at 7 I think they will take him or Walker. If Portland stays at 6 he's in play there. I think there are like 6-7 guys that could be there and Taylor is still one. Taylor/Jarace/Ausar/Black are the most likely "sliders". 5 guys I think are definitely gone are Wemby/Scoot/Cam/Amen/Miller. Taylor fits well in a lot of places but I could see Washington going pg as they have Kuz/Zinger/Kispert/Deni in the frontcourt. I think Cason feels like a fit there.

If fat = potential, then so does immaturity. He doesn’t seem like a lost cause, he seems like exactly what obviously one of the most talented AND youngest prospects in the nation might be.
