Trade up? What are you willing to give up?

I think like all things DA... he will go where the opportunity is. If a dumb team wants to do dumb things they will talk with Danny.

Lauri is completely off limits for me, and it would probably take at least the 3rd pick for me to consider giving up Kessler. Anything else would be on the table.

Sexton + #9 might get the Jazz to #6 or even #5, depending on what they take back. I have little confidence that the Jazz see Sexton as a core piece longer term. I think he was a rehabilitation project.

I'm somewhat of a Scoot skeptic, would not pay whatever price it would cost to get him (probably Lauri).

If there's a guy I'd target, it would be Cam Whitmore and there's a decent shot he's there at 6. I think a deal with ORL makes sense. They are dying for a player like Gradey Dick and they could get him at #9.

I'm terrible at this draft pick trade value stuff, but I think 9+16 or 9+28+protected future first for #6 sounds about right.

I dont think Ochai moves the needle for anyone so I didnt include him. If teams are trading down they usually want win now pieces and Sexton is more of that I guess.

If I'm Dallas, I might offer #10 for Ochai. He'd be a nice 3D wing next to Luka. I think the Jazz would probably decline.

I would package #16 and #28 to move up to #13 for Kobe Bufkin, Keyonte George, Cason Wallace, or GG (if he's still there).

ORL at #11 and OKC at #12 don't need guards as a priority. One of these teams is very likely to take Gradey Dick. So I think a couple of the guards we've been discussing can likely be taken at #13. Jazz would need to get ahead of NOLA and ATL probably.

If you're OK with taking any of those 4 guys, just wait for them at #16.

On my board, there is a drop off after 15. But I think there’s a pretty good chance one of Keyonte, Bufkin, GG, or Hawkins “slips” to 16, I would just be pretty pissed if they were all gone there.

The next tier gets kinda murky for me. I do like a ton of players after that but a lot of them feel like wildcards.

I think they would. He fetched #14 last year and had a promising rookie season. He'd replace Tim Hardaway Jr. What do you think they're going to get for #10?

If you surveyed people outside of the Jazz bubble, I don't think it's unanimous that he even had a promising rookie season. He had some moments tanking times, but he was also 22 so it was expected that he was "NBA ready".

He's not better than THJ and there's no guarantee he's replacing anyone in a real rotation. Late first fetch real, NBA rotation level caliber players which is what they would be looking for. For the 10th pick they would want so much more than Ochai.

I was of the belief that the common opinion of this years draft was that outside of the 1 pick it wasn't loaded with talent?

Ochai shot 36% on 3PAs, finished well at the rim, defended multiple positions and has nowhere near the health issues or contract issues that THJ had. Like I said in my post, I think the Jazz would decline to trade him for #10.

Don't you think if that were true, they would not have him representing at the lottery? I think Sexton IS the starting point guard next season on this team.I think barring an upgrade via free agency that pushes Sexton to 6th man where he shines , there is little chance a rookie takes it from him at all.
I think if the Jazz feel they need to move up which I doubt, it won't be at 6. I am guessing they will throw 9,16 and the Wolves next unprotected. trying to get into the 4.
If it fails, which it will, they will maybe try moving 16 ,28, and a future Wolves pick with protections , to leap over a couple end of the lottery teams. esp if they think those 2 are seeking the same player.
I doubt Sexton until he proves healthy again is getting them 1 pick higher either
