What's new

Trade up? What are you willing to give up?

What do you think guys about Rupert? He is only 18, got a decent season in New Zeeland. Seems to be a good defender and have a kind of Bridges potential. Seems to be positionned around 20 in the draft.
Unless you need a defensive stopper to round your team off for a playoffs run, I think Cissoko is a much more rounded, skilled and accomplished player at this point.

Also watching the playoffs and seeing how Vanderbilt struggles to get game time cos he can’t knock down the 3 consistently gives me pause drafting a strictly defensive player.

I quite agree with that. Not easy to make the right choice. Hope DA and his team keep doing some magic.

I'm somewhat of a Scoot skeptic, would not pay whatever price it would cost to get him (probably Lauri).

If there's a guy I'd target, it would be Cam Whitmore and there's a decent shot he's there at 6. I think a deal with ORL makes sense. They are dying for a player like Gradey Dick and they could get him at #9.

I'm terrible at this draft pick trade value stuff, but I think 9+16 or 9+28+protected future first for #6 sounds about right.

This.
Do it!

Cam is who i would be trying to trade up for.

Jazz could offer #9 + #16 to move up to #6. I might do that for Cam Whitmore or a Thompson. I'd then want to find a way to trade back into the mid 1st round though.

Ya i would rather do 16 and 9 to move up for cam than sexton and 9

Is Cam really that much better than what we’re looking at ror pick #9 to spend extra assets?

I think so. I wouldnt use a lot of assets though. Just 16 and 9 or something like that.

He’s in play for me at 28 but not any sooner. I used to be altogether opposed but his measurables are indeed top-notch and I realized he could maybe be a draft and stash which I really value.

How about trading for Portland's 3rd pick and taking Scoot Henderson with that 3rd pick. Just make 3 teams trade with Philadelphia and Portland? Philadephia is getting old and is in the situation, which they might have just to start over again, especially if Harden leaves or Embiid says that he wants to be traded. So what i am suggesting is that Philadelphia sends Embiid to Portland and Portland sends Scoot to Utah. And Utah sends something like 9, 16, 28 2023 draft picks and maybe Lakers first round pick and something like 3-4 more first rounders to Philadelphia and then just put needed fillers to make the salaries to match (can be done, tested it at ESPN nba trade machine). Idea is also not trading any of our future core players (Lauri, Kessler, Ochie) on this process. Then go after for some forward in free agent market or make some other trade to get one or just keep this draft's 9 pick and draft one (like hendricks, dick, whitmore?)? Any thoughs?

I like Rayan as a toolsy player who can do a lot of things - has elite level perimeter defense in him. He can even do spot point guard duties. Needs some more better shooting from the outside but there are flashes but for me that is the only thing that makes me wince a little. I like him as super scrub even better than Black for the Jazz.

You are suggesting trading 6-7 firsts for Scoot?

Basically yes. I think that it what it they want in minimum if we dont send lauri or walker in the process. Its just that that 28 pick is not very valuable. And Utah have what 13 first round picks in next 5 years? And i like the kid (Scoot) already.
