2023 NBA Draft Megathread

His form breaks down due to confidence and dribbling. The shot just looks clunky/stiff, and when you add in his hesitancy to shoot, it results in the form getting ugly.
Repetition and work can help that. Overall I agree… all these guys make ‘em by themselves in a gym… in game it’s different. It’s good he’s working with Steph’s guy though I guess.

The kid is the typical gym rat worker supposedly… so if he has it in him I think it will come out.

This is what an open catch-and-shoot opportunity would look like. But yeah, it's when you add movement and dribbling that things might fall apart.

Lowe said on his pod today that #3 couldn't get Bridges or OG he didn't think. Bridges I get... locked into a great deal... has shown he can be great on ball more. OG though? Essentially one year deal and a guy who has missed 15-20 games most years... Boy if the Raps can get 3 for OG they better do it now.

OG is really good... but holy cow is he overrated if this is true.
Givony said on Lowe's podcast that Miller is not in great shape right now and multiple sources from the league have told him his interviews have been very bad.

That's 100% teams trying to tank his stock so they have a chance at him.
Are teams stupid enough to forego drafting him if he shows up to their own workout in shape and he interviews well? I kind of don't believe this is teams that want to drop his stock.

So why are they slandering Miller and having Givony report it a day after Woj said the opposite?

What's the status of #LockeWatch at this point? I kind of feel like it stopped being predictive when Lindsey left and Danny came into the FO.
He actually mentioned this a little and kinda said he was dropping knowledge like Woj. He doesn’t have the in he used to have and DA seems really nimble… so he could pivot while on the clock. I also think this group values keeping as much intel in house as possible.

He was talking about his Seattle Radio days before teh Jazz

And it happened a day after the Woj report.....

There's 0% chance this isnt gamesmanship on some level.
Possible, but again... who is this aimed to influence? Lets say Miller goes to work out for Charlotte and he kills it and he's in amazing shape and his interview goes really well... How is that going to influence the Hornets? Are they gonna be like "Well, sure we saw with our own eyes that he's in amazing shape and we heard his interview with our own ears... but damn... what if that Givony report is right and he bombed it last week with Portland and Detroit...

It just makes no sense. This is the type of info that shouldn't influence ANYONE from front offices of multibillion dollar teams.

Givony obviously close with Schmitz too… who might prefer just taking Miller over trading the pick or figuring out Scoot.

It’s also Woj reading his agent prepared statement so it wouldn’t surprise me if a team or two weren’t impressed… the in shape thing was kind of weird… has he done team workouts?

It plants a seed. Maybe Charlotte gets him in and that's on their mind and it influences them towards that thinking more than it would if it didnt. You can say this same question about any gamesmanship of this type, but teams clearly do it.

Barlowe said that he was sick for a week or something and couldnt workout and that might have been it? Not a direct quote, but listend to the episode earlier today and he commented on it being BS.

Yeah, Ainge runs a way tighter ship (as evidenced by the org only releasing their workouts for funsies, not standard practice.
