2023 NBA Draft Megathread

He actually mentioned this a little and kinda said he was dropping knowledge like Woj. He doesn’t have the in he used to have and DA seems really nimble… so he could pivot while on the clock. I also think this group values keeping as much intel in house as possible.
There were years when we could predict pretty much every player the Jazz will target. Alec Burks, Trey Lyles, Grayson Allen, Tony Bradley... felt like all of those were telegraphed by Locke on his pre-draft videos.

It's also confirmation because they were picked so we remember them, but he liked other guys in that same draft range for all of those picks.

Little quicker too. It used to look like he needed a couple of seconds to set everything in motion to get a shot off. Release looks a little low still, but so does Steph’s to be honest and it doesn’t seem to hold him back.
steph gets elevation on his jumper. and his release is ultra quick so there is that too.

Givony said on Lowe's podcast that Miller is not in great shape right now and multiple sources from the league have told him his interviews have been very bad.
givony also said it's 60% miller at #2 overall, 40% Scoot. you don't pass up Scoot, a guy who has been a lock for #2 for over a year up until this very week, by not representing yourself well at the combine. instead you might fall to 4 or 5.

bottom line is givony is talking out of both sides of his mouth. entirely contradictory.

one of my problems with black - and i'm a fan of black - is that he has trouble getting his shot off and we see why in that video - it's a relatively low release and he shoots a set shot. gets zero elevation on his jumper. the release point isn't bad if he could shoot an actual jumpshot. but between both, it's a problem.
This is exactly the problem. He shoots in your face and doesn't elevate at all when he shoots. He's going to get blocked.... A LOT

it will be like it was at arkansas. he just won't shoot unless there is nobody near him. he's smart enough to know when he can get it off, but it's a problem that he can't. you don't want to be limited by your ability to get shots off.

I hope this is enough to get Washington to bite on him at #8. That likely gets Walker or Ausar to the Jazz at #9.
I'm super curious who the non Cason player will be who ends up being there at #9. And if Cason or someone else happens to jump into that top 8 (which is kind of a dream scenario) we are guaranteed to have multiple good options to choose from. Black feels the most likely, but he could easily go top 8, too.

This is absolutely terrible man. I understand it’s your own personal big board but damn this is bad.

GG at 7
Black at 13
Hendricks at 16

Just a couple that are laughable.

Looks fine to me. If the Jazz were to draft Hendricks, they'd then have Ochai, Hendricks, Lauri and Kessler all of whom have limited self creation. They'd be relying entirely on their PG to set everyone up. Hendricks is projecting to be a high-end role player, but a role player nonetheless.
