I'm still not a huge fan of taking Dick at 9, but I have to admit this roster building strategy does kind of intrigue me.
I would be fine taking Dick I just think we could trade down from 9 to like 11 or 12 to get him if he was our guy.

They are just saying their overall holistic games, not comparing their freshman seasons/size/efficiency.JHS has like 3 inches on Brunson and Brunson was way more efficient in every area as a freshman. Brunson also didn’t declare until he was a junior. Not really similar at all.
But Jett's usage rate or at least time of possession has got to be quite a bit higher, right? I guess I can find that myself.Jett Howard isnt a blackhole. He's a pretty good playmaker. Howard had 11.4 attempts per game with 2 APG. Dick had 10.9 shots w/ 1.7 APG.
HmmmThere's a lot to like about Dick.
I do wonder if Orlando would be interested in trading us 6/11 for 9/16 and a couple future firsts.
Something like:
9 + 16 + 2025 Timberwolves unprotected 1st + 2027 Lakers top-4 protected 1st for 6 + 11
Just saying that in many conceptions of what is opposite (or "bizarro"), you actually need to be similar in some meaningful respects. Think being on opposite side of a spectrum.I do think DIck has better intangibles than Howard, but Howard's ball in hand ability and playmaking ability is higher. Dick is more a quick decision maker, get off the ball type. I wouldnt say that makes Howard selfish though.
Both will have to expand their overall games if they want to achieve their highest level, but I wouldn't say they are the antithesis of each other.
I would at least replace the 2025 Timberwolves pick with the 2025 Cavs pick since it likely won’t be quite as good.I do wonder if Orlando would be interested in trading us 6/11 for 9/16 and a couple future firsts.
Something like:
9 + 16 + 2025 Timberwolves unprotected 1st + 2027 Lakers top-4 protected 1st for 6 + 11
If that gets me a Thompson or Hendricks AND Wallace then IDK.
I still would prefer to trade players over picks where reasonable. This is why I like Dallas more as a trading partner in that 10/11 range.

Sure, Im higher on Dick cuz of the intangible stuff making him a safer pick, but I do think Howard has a slightly higher ceiling with his ball handling abilityJust saying that in many conceptions of what is opposite (or "bizarro"), you actually need to be similar in some meaningful respects. Anyway, just riffing.
