2023 NBA Draft Megathread

I'm uncomfortable being in agreement with David Locke, but I think Kobe's the guy. I think he or Keyonte George is BPA at 9.

I don't see it. I like the comps with Derrick White. Bufkin is solid. I think he is a plus player. But I don't see super high upside. He isn't Kawhi just because he is decent at a lot of things.

Anthony Black shows a lot of competitiveness (a big plus for me), he has impressive size, and I like some of the surrounding stories (grew 6 inches last year and improved shooting bumped him in to the lottery).

I also like the fit with Lauri way more than Bufkin. Give me Black all day vs Bufkin.

What a weird thing to say. If you don't think he's a mix of 3 specific players he's not worthy of being drafted?
If you don’t think he’s in that type of archetype or mold then you don’t draft him. You don’t take him to be a 3 and D wing lol. It’s pretty simple to understand.

He's been canceling his workouts in the mid-20s on. He's expected to go in the teens or very early 20s (e.g., Brooklyn). His range seems to be 14-22. He's working out with the Pels next week.
Lol

Wait, is someone thinking Anthony Black is gonna be drafted to be a 3 and D wing? That doesn't make any sense.

GG canceling workouts is giving him less opportunity to say or do something dumb.

Black is a lot more like Giddey than Josh Green. They are both reluctant shooters who play to set others up. Black is a flashier athlete than giddey but less of a playmaker.

Neither is going to wow you with shooting. Black is a better defender and more aggressive competitor. Giddy is a craftier player. But similar size for both of them. Giddey is 6'8" and Black is 6'7" and growing.

lol maybe his f hair grew 6" smh you can make an argument for both of these prospects at 16 but neither is worth it at 9 imo

If we can pick up the 10th pick and grab Bilal, I am all in. I like it.

Outside of trading up for Cam Whitmore, my favorite wing is Bilal.
noone is trading up for a last minute riser. He will either get overpicked in the late lottery, by a team with no needs at all, willing to gamble, like OKC,.Or he will go slightly higher than he would have before the last months hype parade. I expect he goes around 18-25 . I might take him at 16

he is 6'6 and he wasn't 6' this time last year smh. you got a lot of bs to support your arguments imo. the take on Giddey isn't bad, but Black is what he is and that isn't good enough for 9th

it does somewhat, since everyone in the NBA that knows he cannot offer any spacing at all, will just game plan against it. Easy to stop a team that has that weak of a link offensively. So he will be either limited to playing a secondary ball handler off the bench, on a team with veteran leaders and on ball savants, until he develops a decent pull up game. Or he will get overpicked to be a point guard by some desperate lottery team, hoping for a long term developmental tank commando, for the next 3 seasons. Are the Jazz really going to go that direction with the Finnisher already here and a few other basically win sooner than later roster? I don't know. But if they do, LM is gone by his own accord
