Warrior watch 2012

GOOD NEWS! The Timberwolves still look like complete trash.

Rubio and Love look great.

Beasely is still a ball hog who shoots too much and brings nothing else to the game.

Derrick Williams looks like a PF trying to be a SF who's rotation spot is taken by Michael Beasely.

Darko sucks lol.

Wesley Johnson looks like a SF trying to be a SG who takes too many 3 point shots.

Unless they trade Beasley soon, they will probably finish below the Warriors.

Its a good thing that the Clippers matched the Warriors offer for DeAndre Jordan. I want the Warriors to do alright, but not THAT good. Begging for them to finish 11th in the West

Why not 8th if the pick is top 7 protected?

11th in the West means they're the fifth worst team in the west. Not sure why he's rooting for that exactly but I just thought I'd throw it out there.

I am just guessing that 11th seems like a likely position for them to finish at, and Id prefer for them to not finish any higher than it.

Why in the hell would you not prefer them to finish 8th-10th? Were you dropped on your head as a child?

Also, the Warriors lost today. 2-3. Book it.

He probably should have worded it differently. Obviously the 8th spot is ideal, but if the Ws are bad enough to be 8th, they will almost certainly tank to keep their pick. IMO, our best case scenario is for them to hover high enough to keep their playoff hopes alive for a while, and then hope they drop coming down the stretch. I'd rather get the 11 th pick than have them tank some games towards the end and keep their pick.

I would love for them to finish 8-10th, but Im sort've expecting them to hit 11th just as a safety-net thing; it leaves room for tanking and what not. I now realize that I did a piss-poor job explaining this in my earlier posts, lol. Been on meds for the past few days, so bear with me.

Thank you. This explained it a helluva lot better than I could with my own words.

Only a few days? I would have guessed longer;-)

Just kidding. I kind of figured you were leaving a safety margin. At worst, I'd be ok if they just managed to sneak into the playoffs. That wouldn't be ideal, but the pick would likely be in the 15-17 range, still high enough to get a good player. I'm honestly thinking the Jazz probably have enough talent to finish around 8-10. Maybe Jazz could trade those two picks and move up to #5 or so.

Is this based on how the Warriors finish or how the lottery works out? If they finish 8th but the lucky balls come up 3rd, do we lose the pick?

Using wikipedia percentages and also assuming they won't change:

If the Warriors finish 8th worst record then they'll have exactly a 10 % chance of retaining the pick by hitting the top 3. 8th finish has no chance of moving up to 7th, only slight chance of falling to 9th or 10th.

If the Warriors finish 9th worst record then they'll have a 6.1% chance of retaining the pick by hitting the top 3.

With how lucky the Jazz got last year I'm expecting the reverse to happen this year. 10% and 6.1% are good odds but not good enough for me in this draft. I'm pulling for 10th worse or better and hoping Jazz get luckier.

Steph Curry hurt while playing the Spurs. This could be good news for Jazz fans. (although feel bad for the guy, he is a great player)

This is the third time he sprained it since pre-season, and he had it surgically repaired in may. I would be very surprised if this wasn't a re-occuring story throughout this year. I feel bad for him, and I hope he overcomes this. Next year.

Watching the Warriors play is a truly bizarre thing for me. I have to root for them to be bad, but not tooo bad, while also rooting for Curry to be amazing because he's on my fantasy team...truly bizarre. ;)

Yeah, the whole bad, but not too bad is hard for me to wrap my head around this season. "Yes! a loss. Yes! another loss. Uh oh, better get a win here....and then lose the next game."

There was a yahoo sports article about the Warriors aggressively pursuing Dwight Howard for a one year rental. Then convince him to stay longer. I'm sure they would have to give up Ellis and a lot of other key pieces. Wonder how this would affect our pick?

We are only 6 games in and I am already obsessing about this pick!

I would say Ellis, Thompson, Wright, and 2013 Unprotected 1st Round (they will be god awful after Howard bolts)
