It's a rumor from Givony, but what would it actually take and what would you be willing to give?

Got to think the Pistons would want some combo of draft capital and veteran(s) to bolster their roster.

There is obviously some good relationship between Utan and Detroit as they completed the Bogey deal last year that worked out for both sides.

The most immediately obvious trade is Sexton for Bagley and swapping 9 and 5. After getting Wiseman how much do they want to keep Bagley? Sexton could start next to Cade/Ivey or he could come off the bench as a 6th man. The Jazz could add a future pick to sweeten the deal, but I don't think it would take much more as the upgrade from Bagley to Sexton for their team is fairly substantial.

An alternative would be Burks/Sexton swap if Detroit actually likes Bagley at his contract.

Pistons don’t need a player like Sexton… they’d likely have some interest in Ochai… my guess is the cost to move up to 5 is at least one good pick plus 9. If it’s less than that then go for it. If it’s more I pass. I don’t love the target here… if that is the target just wait until 9 and take BPA. I don’t hate Walker but I just don’t see him worth the cost of moving up.

Pistons could definitely use a Sexton, moreso than 90% of NBA teams.

Look Pistons are kings of duplication… but Ivey is Sextonesque in some ways. They have Cade, Ivey, AB off the bench (who they love)… they’d need Ochai more than Sexton. The cost to move up in the top ten is usually a pick. If we move up it will be 9 plus a pick… if the cost is more than that… then the team really isn’t that motivated and you’d likely have to overpay… and I’m not doing that.

You’re delusional if you think the Pistons wouldn’t want a pick (or two) to move up from 9 to 5 and that Sexton alone is enough of a sweetener.
