The issue is we dont have the win now youngish player they covet. We will see if someone else really gives them a starting quality wing/big to move up.

On the eve of thr draft, we have to thank the stars we don't have Cy as the final decision. We would have got GG or JHS at 9

If I was in charge of drafting the Jazz would have won multiple rings by now.

Other teams may drive the price up higher than that. Its value will peak when Dallas is on the clock. Jazz need to get it early. There's too much talent available at that spot. If you're the team that wants Gradey Dick, Kobe Bufkin, Derek Lively or Bilal Coulibaly, you probably need that pick.

I would just absorb Bertans salary with 10 attached for 16 to be honest.

I need to look closely to see if the numbers work there for them to end up with cap space… otherwise it’s just a money deal. What may end up happening is THJ being the salary dump because they could waive and stretch the remaining 22M on Bertans deal over five years and knock his cap number down to 4.5… so makes 12.5M in space.

THJ is way more functional as a player so I’d still do it. But maybe they do like THJ and McGee plus 10 for 16. That would help clear space. If they like KO just a Bertans for KO plus the swap would work.

To clear space they’d likely have to know that Draymond is coming… this is where FA coming before the draft would be so helpful.

Bertans salary is pretty minuscule compared to the huge jump in player quality from 16 to 10.

It's not minuscule at all. How much draft prep do you do to say something like that?

Looking over at it briefly, with Luka’s salary and Kyrie’s cap hold they’re already at 82M with just those two.

They’re in worse shape than I thought. They would have to move both THJ and Bertans if they really wanted to do something in free agency.
