2023 NBA Draft Megathread

My prediction is the Pistons cave tomorrow and do the 5 for 9 and 16 deal with us and we take Black at 5. Just a gut feeling.

I think this happens as well but not 100% convinced it’s for Black. Could be for someone else but I hope it’s for Black.

The Spurs and Blazers have, by far, the easiest draft possibilities. They've probably been out golfing for weeks/months at a time by now.

It may depend on who gets to 9... but I doubt they'd take Black to wait and see. I think it actually may end up being 9 and a future pick for Black if it gets done.

If we stay at 9 I still think its Cam or Ausar. I think Taylor ends up in Indiana and Walker end up going before him.

My main point is that Hendricks isn't that special and shouldn't be a priority inside the top 10. He's a 3D wing who really needs to play at the 4 and needs other people to set him up. Guys like Jerami Grant, Robert Covington, Kyle Kuzma, etc., they're fine, they're rotational, but no one builds their team around a player like that. Those players play for 4 or 5 teams over the course of their career.
So why has it been so difficult for the Jazz to find a guy like that?

I dont value or respect anyone who says things like "x poster likes player Y, so I dont like player Y"

If that's the basis of your draft analysis I'd rather read nbadraft.net scouting reports than anything you have to say.
You gotta look at the context of what was occurring at the time of the post. Sometimes we say things in the heat of the moment that we don't really mean. I certainly hope that has been the case with some of the posts from you directed at me for instance.
We all have our bad moments. I like to try to forgive quickly.

Decent chance we get him, and I would talk myself into it, and root for the kid. But we are a team with a lot of needs and he doesn't seem to really specifically fit any of them.
One thing that we will probably always need is players that are good at basketball. Hendricks fits that need.

A few weeks ago I thought there was a good chance Jaquez would still be there at 28...seems pretty much impossible at this point.

Jaquez crushing workouts is the least surprising thing I've heard in the pre-draft process. I have just been denying my senses when I don't speak of him more highly. He's one that has always jumped off the screen but I try not to bite on pump fakes.

Just buy it before it's too late. He fits the profile of guys you typically like.

I like him a lot... I think in the middle of the draft there are going to be some reaches for the next Christian Braun. I think Jacquez is a good candidate in that range... but I think some higher upside guys could slide back as a result... it if becomes a trend. Like Murray, Jacquez, OMP, Ben Shephard, may go like 10 spots higher than they would normally. Warriors specifically will go for a more established dude...
